GET THIS!!! DON'T RELY ON MICROCHIPS AND QR TAGS
Shows battery life in the find my iphone app, you can "ping" the dog, set it to notify you when your dog leaves set addresses. Great for shy dogs since you don't have to get up close to "scan" them, other brands with GPS have a short recharge time, and typically an expensive subscription with them (such as FI, and while I appreciate all the other features it doesn't fit my price range) These are so much more affordable especially if you have a lot of pets. Airtag's are about the same price and only works if the dog is holding still whereas these work while the dog is running around the yard. Our dog got out recently and we're lucky to have her back.
BEST TAG ON A BUDGET
Very simple to setup, open your find my friends and add as an item. Plays a high pitched beep when needed, can set location notifications, shows battery life on app so I know when to change the small watch battery. GPS works much better than AirTags since AirTags only work if the object is stationary, our dogs are runners so this works. I love that it looks like a normal tag, I recently lost my dog and got her back, she’s very nervous around other people and other tags where people need to scan QR codes or TAP to activate don’t work for us. Also this is one of the RARE gps tags that doesn’t need a subscription to actually work and works with technology you already have. I use it for all 6 of my pups, (only other brand I’d recommend would be FI collars, similar to an Apple Watches for dogs but has an expensive subscription so it’s only worth it if you only have one pet or disposable income to do so)
Don’t waste your money
I felt like this would be a good investment for a neighborhood cat that we help care for. I wanted to know where I could find him. He travels through the neighborhood so I thought for sure several people would have apple products and his tag would ping off them. Nope! May ping once a day if that. It is so frustrating to constantly be checking for an update and there not be any. The only good this has been for us has been the engraving. I would NOT recommend for pet use.
Not thrilled
We purchased two of these. One for our 8YO Dal the other for our one year old Dal. The one year old was able to reach hers from her collar bite on it & ruin it. My 8YO is still working. But i's puppy who I was really needing this for : /
Great Tracker for Escape Artist
Our dog is a master escape artist and most recently dog a hole between our fence post and home just large enough for him to escape. Thankfully, we had just purchased the YIP tag, and we found him in a nearby neighbor's yard within minutes using the app. Love our new tag and how quickly we were able to find our escape artist:)
It definitely works
The dog collar was off, with the device attached in a friend's car, and was tracked into the next town. Pretty impressive, even more so if the collar stays on the dog!
Love that it works with Apple find my
I received this as a gift for Christmas and it's been a great way to track my indoor / outdoor cat! Works seamlessly with my iPhone and love that it's also engraved with my contact information. Highly recommend!
Do NOT Buy
Do not buy this product. I bought two for each of my dogs and neither worked no matter how many times I tried to set it up.
Best gift to pet owners
Seriously the best idea. Im buying this for everyone I know with a pet. This would solve the lost pet epidemic in our area! Love this product.
Does not work
Waste of money!!! It does not track your lost dog. It only works if dog is near you and what is the point? Dont buy!
