I love Zak George’s dog training instructions

    By on

If you have a new puppy, this is a great book to have on hand. This book goes along with online videos to watch and see the dog training in action. I chose this book because I wanted to use positive training and rewards rather than punishment with my dog. This book definitely helps you develop a positive relationship with your dog while teaching them the correct behaviors you want to see!

    Great Training Introduction!

    By on

I’m a professional dog trainer so I’ve read dozens upon dozens of books about training methods/canine behavior/troubleshooting behavior issues and I have to say, Zak George’s book is a wonderful starter’s guide for someone getting a new dog. I don’t think one single book can ever be the end all and be all for training books, but this definitely provides a great starting point and overview. I love that his methods are rooted in actual animal psychology and based on positive reinforcement and building a relationship with your dog. I also like that he is honest and realistic about the amount of time and effort training requires. Basic info

    By on

I was not at all impressed with this book. More than half if it was basic dog ownership and prep for puppy info. Very basic training info. A waste for experienced dog owners. Was looking for refresher training for new rescue pup. Not helpful.
