My 6 year old pit mix gets way too excited when guests come over and can sometimes knock them over. She also is over stimulated on walks when she sees dogs because she wants to greet them. Shes 60-65 lbs and I used one at first, then two, and tried 3 but it did not make much of a difference in terms of her reaction to greeting people or on our walks if anything I noticed she's more hype!
After years of different medications that mostly took away the storm anxiety but made him irritable we have found something that works. I never thought something over the counter could stop his shaking and pacing but this has been it. I would highly recommend this!
We've tried a couple of different calming treats for Jager and this one works great without getting him too sleepy and loopy. He's actually just calm and not easily overstimulated/excitable. Even though our dog doesn't have separation anxiety, these help keep it easy to leave him at home since we give him 2 while we get ready and by the time we need to leave, he doesn't even really notice we're out the door.
Haven’t noticed any difference at all. Gave it 1 star because that’s the lowest score you can pick. It deserves a zero.
DISCLAIMER: I received this product free of charge for a product a review. After trying this product, it did not seem to affect my puppy whatsoever.
When I leave Bentley goes into a frantic out of control barking fit and cannot be consoled or calmed down. I have tried all sorts of things; dog TV channels on youtube, training techniques, blah blah blah....so I thought I'd try these. I tried just a tiny 1/2 of a piece. He didn't even close his mouth. So the little Picky One just let it roll off his tongue onto the floor and walked away. It was like, "Oh YUK". So I got a beep /ultrasonic hand held device that is working like magic. I will try the calming bites later on when I need them. That's just my initial experience. I will update this review later on.
These unfortunately did not work for my pup who is quite anxious after being rescued. I think they could work for calming dogs who experience events that make them anxious but are otherwise already comfortable in their environment. My biggest concern though is that my dog had very loose stools and quite the blowout in her crate one night which made me stop giving these to her. Since we stopped, she has been doing much better. I would start with a lower dose first if trying these for the first time!
He tells me every night before he goes to be that he's ready for his calming bite!
Weaning GSD off prozac. Using this to keep this prey driven psycho at bay while I RTO.
I did not notice any difference with my lab. He gobbled them up and seemed to like the taste. But I didn’t feel like they made him any better.
