How many milligrams(mg) of glucosamine and chondroitin in a chew please? P.S. my pit bull loves these. :)
Answer by • Apr 20, 2020
The glucosamine and chondroitin that are in Zesty Paws Green-Lipped Mussel Bites Hip & Joint Support Chicken Flavor Dog Supplement is what occurs naturally in the Green-Lipped Mussels themselves. Zesty Paws do not put a specific measurement into the chews, but rather a natural ingredient that naturally contains those compounds. Therefore, Zesty Paws do not have a measurement of how much is in each chew specifically, being that natural levels may fluctuate.
My dog loves these Mussell Mobility Bites. The odor isn’t pleasant, but he loves them and more importantly I’m starting to see improvement in his mobility. I also feed him joint and mobility dog food. I was doing the dog food by itself but decided to add these in as well. We are on our second container of them now and he is more playful and active that he was on the food alone. He’s getting up there in years, so seeing him still play like a puppy is the best thing to see!

they stink super bad but are beneficial!
Now these things REEK like nothing else I’ve ever smelled but mussel is really beneficial for dogs! They are packed with Omega 3’s and other fatty acids, protein, and minerals like zinc, iron, and manganese. They help your dogs muscles, immunity, and decreasing inflammation. Whether these truly work or not I could not tell you, i feed these to my 1 year old dog as a preventative and for the benefits and so far he’s in perfect health! I fed 2 as directed, and it did not mess up his tummy. At first when I gave them as a treat he smelled it and rolled it around for a few minutes but eventually ate it, now I just mix it into his food and he gobbles it up! Just beware of the smell

Great Product
We keep these at the kennel because all of the dogs are on concrete for sanitary purposes. It really helps older dogs and those with health conditions move around better and be more comfortable on the flooring.

Good Product
We just bought these for our 11.5 yr old husky that was slowing down & was experiencing joint pain. She has only been taking them for 3 weeks but seems to be getting around better & they do not upset her stomach.

Smells Bad
I usually get the Senior Mobility Bites, but they were out so I bought these instead. They may work great, but I can’t stand the smell. My dogs liked them though. They also like the other ones. I think I’ll stick with those.

Not so good for my pup
Our vet recommended hip and joint supplements for our retriever, jasper because he is growing so fast.
I gave these to him as directed, but low and behold, after a week he had stomach issues which caused nausea and diarrhea. As this was the only dietary change, i stopped giving them to him. Issues resolved in a couple of days. Sadly, before I knew of issues I ordered another jar of them. Remember if you you have a retriever they tend to have sensitive tummies.

Unexpectedly good results
I have an 11-year old, 75# Catahoula/Lab mix. I was reluctant to keep him on Galliprant all the time because of the side effects and Antinol was very effective but at a dosage that was really expensive for such a big guy. I tried these and was really surprised at how well they worked with no weird side effects. He's off the Antinol and on Galliprant "as needed" which is only on really bad days. The real miracle however is my 13 year-old Chiweenie who is suddenly playing and running again! I couldn't believe my eyes. Just from observation they seem to work well.

Smelly but Good
My vet suggested we give Leo green-lipped mussel joint supplements so I ordered these. They smell fishy but he loves them and his discomfort level after amputation and bad spinal arthritis seems much better. Thanks!

I really wanted to find a better alternative
I bought these because I had been using another flavor for hip and joint and my little dog just wouldn’t eat it but my Labrador would and didn’t want to have to buy separate supplements for each. These are terrible, even my Labrador won’t eat them and they smell something awful. Going to try something else.
