How many one-pump servings are in an 8-oz bottle?
Answer by ChewySep 21, 2018
The 16 oz and 32 oz bottles contain 1 teaspoon per pump. The 8 oz bottle each pump is 1/2 teaspoon or 0.08 oz. There are approximately 100 pumps per 8 oz container.

How do they purify their products to remove contaminants like mercury?
Answer by ChewyApr 18, 2018
During the manufacturing process, Zesty Paws Salmon Oil is molecularly distilled so that it removes all contaminants including mercury, lead, etc. Quality is the key ingredient in everything Zesty Paws does, and they maintain that quality by implementing quality assurance measures and standards that are a part of every stage of their process. To support this promise, every batch of their supplements and vitamins are tested by a third party lab to ensure that they are free of contaminants and that what they promise on the labels are what is actually in the bottle.

Is the plastic container BPA free?
Answer by ChewyOct 23, 2022
BPA materials are not used during the manufacturing process of Zesty Paws jars so they are not expected to be present in Zesty Paws jars.

Why is the oil bright orange? Did dye from the bottle get into the product?
Answer by ChewyJan 27, 2021
The Salmon Oil is that color because that is the color of natural salmon oil. It is a bright amber/orange-y color. Zesty Paws does not add any artificial coloring to their product.

Helps all skin types in dogs!

I have 2 dogs- a golden retriever with VERY dry and flaky skin and a husky/lab mix with thick and coarse fur, both dogs around 75 lbs. I give it to both of my dogs and not only does it help immensely with my golden’s dry skin, but it helps with my husky/lab’s coarse fur and makes it so soft. My dogs love the taste. It does smell fishy (it is salmon oil so of course it’s going to smell) and does leak a bit but 100% worth every cent. I can tell a difference within a week. Will continue to buy for my boys!!

So far so good

So my cat is very picky she won't touch anything when it comes to healthy for her. She barely eats her dry food. Well I been using this for about 6 days now. She hardly touches her wet food when I add it to it. So I started just doing 3 drops only of it. Once in a while I have to add some water to her wet food. She don't seem to eat the chunks but she must be getting some of this stuff. Not sure about her dry skin to early to tell. But her bathroom issues seems to be improving except I did notice some was orange. Hopefully it helps her.

Doggos love it

All three of my dogs love it and are super excited for every dinner. I have been using this exact product on and off for years and it is a special treat to them. I only just started using it again so I cannot tell if it makes a difference in their coats. It is a little messy but that is expected with oil. I keep a paper towel underneath it for any drips from the pump.

No good for my cats

I purchased this for my 2 cats. When I opened the bottle they smelled it and ran away. I thought maybe things will change during feeding time but when I squirted 1 pump drop inside, both cats came near their bowls, smelled it and left. They didn’t want to eat for the rest of the day. I’m so sad that it didn’t work out. The smell is strong but it smells like salmon so I was absolutely certain they would like it. Now I need to search for something else to buy. I only rated it low because my cats didn’t like it.

Helps her itchy skin

I add a pump of wild Alaskan Salmon oil to my dogs food once a day. She has always been in itchy one. So maybe she has some allergies. I haven't had her tested. However, my Vet Tech suggested salmon oil. Since I've put it on her food she seems to itch much less. So, I keep it up, especially since summer is coming. Summer seems to be the worst season for her. She likes the taste.

Awesome except for lid/pump

This stuff is great. My dogs love it and their skin and coats are way healthier than they were previously. The effects were relatively immediate as well. Only took a couple days to see improvements. My only complaint is the bottle itself. There are two dispensing options, the lid and a pump. Both result in oil leaking and dripping no matter what I do. Honestly im still purchasing regardless of that bht man does it stink to have fish oil drops on your counter or worse yet, down the side of the bottle that you then get on your hands

my picky cats love it!

i have two cats that are both really picky eaters. i am trying to slowly introduce some things into their diet so it is more nutrient rich for them, and this was the first thing i picked up! they lick the bowl clean whenever i use it, and the changes in their coats was noticeable really quickly! I only use this once a day for them at most(usually I'll go every other day) and only 1 pump each. (TMI but this stuff can make their poop really loose)

Salmon oil - cat specific

Surprisingly the car this was purchased for does not like it. We started small, mixed it with wet food, nothing worked. Whether smell or taste, he wouldnt touch anything in the bowl if this was there. He is our senior cat, has arthritis. So we will look to see if there are other products we might try to help him. Bummer!

Helps my floofy cat with dry skin/fur issue

I used this product on my long hair cat who was having a problem with dry skin in the winter time. His fur was falling out a little and was not looking nice. (He was tested at vet, but no health issues.) I got this and used it for him as well as my other short hair cat that didn't really need it to see if it had any effect. Both cats' coats look amazing after using this for a while. No more dry skin or hair falling out and both cats have very beautiful and shiny coats now.

HORRIBLE PRODUCT

I DO NOT recommend ever buying this product. It smells horrible and leaks constantly. Not only that but made both my dogs have the runs and vomit for three days straight. I even used the recommended amount and it still made them sick. My male corgi started getting bald spots and itching horribly. First thought it was ring worm, but when I looked up the symptoms of salmon oil it is ear infections, diarrhea, fur loss, skin infections, itchy skin, hives, and vomiting. I WOULD NEVER GIVE THIS TO MY DOGS EVER AGAIN!
