About Zignature Dog Food

Learning From Nature

Learning From Nature

Zignature took all of nature's best ingredients and added key nutrients to create a dog food with complete nutrition. In these Physiologically Tuned formulas, meat always comes first, and they've eliminated common allergy-inducing proteins and fillers that are hard to digest. These grain- and gluten-free recipes feature premium proteins, low glycemic carb sources and a limited number of ingredients. It's exactly what your pup should be eating—nothing more, and nothing less.

Meat-First Philosophy

The first ingredient in any list is the most important, because it tells you what the majority of the food is made of. Some commercial pet foods take the easy way out with high-starch carbs near the top of the list. In each of Zignature's dry foods, meat not only comes first, but also second. A quality animal protein source starts off the recipe, followed by a meat or fish meal for an extra helping of the amino acids your pet needs and the flavor he craves.

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

All of Zignature's formulas are free of the most common canine allergen—chicken. And that includes chicken eggs, meal and by-products. As hypoallergenic foods, both wet and dry formulas also avoid the usual sources of stomach upset, including gluten, grains, corn, wheat, soy and dairy. Zignature never uses binding agents that are full of simple carbs and starches; instead, these recipes have low glycemic legumes that deliver extra protein and fiber.

Simple Is Best

Zignature isn't just the diet nature intended—it's even better. They've improved on nature's recipe to give your pup the right amount of each nutrient, and they've done it with the fewest possible ingredients. Just like meals in the wild, these recipes are limited in content for easy digestion and less chance of food sensitivities. These limited ingredient diets have single protein sources, so they're easy to rotate to give your dog a taste of something new.

Only the Best Ingredients

Only the Best Ingredients

To create these nourishing dishes, Zignature gathered the best possible ingredients from trusted sources around the world. Trout, salmon and whitefish all come from the Pacific waters of the Northwest; turkey is raised in the Midwest; duck comes from farms in Western France; kangaroo is brought over from Australia; and venison and lamb are delivered from New Zealand farmlands. Healthy fruits and veggies are harvested from several North American farms based on the season.

Ingredients

Zignature makes nutritious formulas with no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors.

CHICKPEAS: Low-glycemic legumes that promote stable blood sugar and provide an excellent source of dietary fiber, extra protein and copper.

FLAXSEED: Derived from whole, ground seeds of the Flax plant for an outstanding offering of omega-3 fatty acids for coat health, plus soluble fiber for digestion.

ALFALFA MEAL: A natural grass that's rich in vitamins A and C, niacin and calcium, and it also makes a great source of protein and fiber.

SUNFLOWER OIL: Pressed from sunflower oil, it supplies the omega-6 essential fatty acids that your pet needs to maintain skin and coat health.

  • Tummy Issues are Gone!!!

    By on

I have two all american shelter dogs that were having some serious tummy issues. Over the past two years we've tried many brands only for the girls to turn their noses up, vomit food or water all over the house (thank you Bissell for making a spot bot!) or be little gas machines (potatoes made our girls extremely gassy and uncomfortable). After trying to make my own wet food topper out of chicken and the girls having an absolute meltdown (itching and vomiting) my vet pointed out that the girls were likely allergic to chicken! We tried Natural Balance Lamb and Brown Rice and they just didn't want to eat it. For the first time in the total of nearly 3 years, my oldest will actually eat dry kibble without something added! The vomiting and itching has completely stopped and their coats are so soft! My husband and I are absolutely thrilled to finally have happy, healthy little pups! No more sad faces and upset tummies here!!! … more

  • Very impressed with this food

    By on

I have 2 huskies and my female was constantly scratching herself. They've always eaten high quality food, but a few weeks on this food and the itches are gone! Not only that, no more goopy eyes and Sophie's issues "down there" (due to a recessed v) have seemed to clear up as well, which really blows my mind. Everywhere we go, people comment on how soft and healthy they are. I'm SO impressed with zignature, well be sticking with this food for a while. Thanks chewy!

  • So grateful

We have been through so much with our rescue who was in a horrible cycle of allergies. We never figured out what specifically it has been but know for sure chicken. We had her on hydrolyzed food but she was up to 8 cups a day and no satisfied at all. We weaned her onto Zignature after the company sent us samples. Her stools albeit much more frequent are solid and her skin seems to have calmed down. This food saves us about $30 a month and she actually eats it quickly! We had also tried the kangaroos but she doesn’t seem the like the flavor so trying the venison next and going to cycle them as I’ve read you should do. • Picky dog w/ allergies

    By on

We have a 100+ lb American Bulldog...who is a picky eater...and is allergic to everything. We have been feeding him Zignature for a few months now and plan to continue for the rest of his life! We switch between the lamb and kangaroo flavors (like I said, picky eater) and that seems to keep his ear infections/skin flare ups at bay and keep it interesting enough for him to gobble it up (and lick the bowl!). So glad we found this food!

  • Great food

    By on

Had been feeding my dogs blue Buffalo but after recalls I decided to try this per a relative. They like this and they seem to be less itchy after a f we w weeks and even my one lab mix with wiry fur is softer. Relative also recommended Chewy and I love that I ordered this and got it very Next day. Awesome service. Going to sign up for auto ship once I see how long it takes for them to go through this bag.

  • Zignature Dry Dog Food

    By on

My Rhodesian Ridgeback has suffered from severe allergies all his life. Zignature has been great for him. His itching is so much better on Zignature. I think the fish formulas and venison and lamb have been the best for his allergies. The duck agreed with him, but is honestly pretty stinky and he smelled just like his food. Other than that, I have never had an issue with this food, and i like that the protein (flavor) can be changed without having to change over gradually.

  • My dogs love this food

    By on

When I got a new puppy, I sent my husband to the feed store. They recommended Zignature as a food that all three of my dogs could eat. And they do, twice a day every day. Even my very picky Border Collie mix, who I usually have to change foods every 6 weeks for. Now Zignature is delivered every 3 weeks by Chewys.

  • Dogs love it

    By on

I have 2 Boston Terriers who require grain free food due to skin allergies. We switched to Zignature after Orijin's formula change. Dogs do great on it and they absolutely love it! No itching or red paws and bellies on this stuff and big bonus, it's affordable! We have tried lamb and turkey with good results. The pork formula did bring back some skin issues so we will just stuck to the other 2 flavors. Highly recommend.

  • Quality/good taste

    By on

My senior Aussie has never been crazy about kibble. He'd leave it in the bowl until he had to eat it. I now feed him Zignature and he eats twice a day immediately upon putting it in his bowl. I actually feed him less overall and he is satisfied and doesn't act hungry. He has lost and is now at a healthy weight and more active. I am very pleased.
