Learning From Nature
Zignature took all of nature's best ingredients and added key nutrients to create a dog food with complete nutrition. In these Physiologically Tuned formulas, meat always comes first, and they've eliminated common allergy-inducing proteins and fillers that are hard to digest. These grain- and gluten-free recipes feature premium proteins, low glycemic carb sources and a limited number of ingredients. It's exactly what your pup should be eating—nothing more, and nothing less.
Meat-First Philosophy
The first ingredient in any list is the most important, because it tells you what the majority of the food is made of. Some commercial pet foods take the easy way out with high-starch carbs near the top of the list. In each of Zignature's dry foods, meat not only comes first, but also second. A quality animal protein source starts off the recipe, followed by a meat or fish meal for an extra helping of the amino acids your pet needs and the flavor he craves.

Recipe for a Happy Tummy
All of Zignature's formulas are free of the most common canine allergen—chicken. And that includes chicken eggs, meal and by-products. As hypoallergenic foods, both wet and dry formulas also avoid the usual sources of stomach upset, including gluten, grains, corn, wheat, soy and dairy. Zignature never uses binding agents that are full of simple carbs and starches; instead, these recipes have low glycemic legumes that deliver extra protein and fiber.
Simple Is Best
Zignature isn't just the diet nature intended—it's even better. They've improved on nature's recipe to give your pup the right amount of each nutrient, and they've done it with the fewest possible ingredients. Just like meals in the wild, these recipes are limited in content for easy digestion and less chance of food sensitivities. These limited ingredient diets have single protein sources, so they're easy to rotate to give your dog a taste of something new.

Only the Best Ingredients
To create these nourishing dishes, Zignature gathered the best possible ingredients from trusted sources around the world. Trout, salmon and whitefish all come from the Pacific waters of the Northwest; turkey is raised in the Midwest; duck comes from farms in Western France; kangaroo is brought over from Australia; and venison and lamb are delivered from New Zealand farmlands. Healthy fruits and veggies are harvested from several North American farms based on the season.
Ingredients
Zignature makes nutritious formulas with no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors.
CHICKPEAS: Low-glycemic legumes that promote stable blood sugar and provide an excellent source of dietary fiber, extra protein and copper.
FLAXSEED: Derived from whole, ground seeds of the Flax plant for an outstanding offering of omega-3 fatty acids for coat health, plus soluble fiber for digestion.
ALFALFA MEAL: A natural grass that's rich in vitamins A and C, niacin and calcium, and it also makes a great source of protein and fiber.
SUNFLOWER OIL: Pressed from sunflower oil, it supplies the omega-6 essential fatty acids that your pet needs to maintain skin and coat health.

Dog Champion
By Scout on Feb 2, 2021
With 7 dogs, ranging from 20-102 lbs, it’s not easy to find a kibble they agree on. This dog food, which I had never tried before, seems to fit the bill. They all like it. Expensive, though....

It’s been a long 4 months
By BlaineGang on Jul 4, 2020
It took 4 months to find a food that agreed with my Great Dane puppy. Finally landed on Zignature Holistic-Ocean Fusion formula. I add a bit of rice because a giant breed needs grains, and he not only likes it, but is doing well on it.
-
Good product, but pricey.
By Caroline on Apr 23, 2020
I’ve been using this food for maybe 2+ years now. My 8y/o pit mix has struggled with food and environmental allergies her whole life so we originally had her on a prescription food. We tried this brand and she reacted well, so it was a great option for her. I’m giving four stars because although it’s a great food for dogs with allergies/sensitivities, I think the price is really high. There are some other great options out there at a friendlier cost.

Already too expensive and now reduced size at same price!!!

Did you think we wouldn’t notice? I’m looking for alternative so I won’t be buying this again.

Doesn’t seem to get sick of it
By Nikki on Mar 27, 2020
My dog is not really a picky one he will eat almost whatever I give him but you can tell when he doesn’t like something too much. This he loves, he’s been on zignature for maybe about 6 months and I’ve always rotated different proteins once each 27lb bag is gone to see what he likes best, and he eats this one so fast every time it’s in his bowl and can definitely tell it’s his favorite of the bunch. He’s always seemed to like fish the most and didn’t seem like he loved the salmon & trout like this one... will keep purchasing!

Good for now

My dogs get bored with the same food, so I switch it up every time they get bored with what ever I'm giving them.

Trying to help with yeast
By mpastorek on Feb 3, 2020
After reading the reviews I was very hopeful that this dog food could help with my dog's constant scratching and yeasty smell. The food has not delivered in that department whatsoever, I am still open to try a new flavor in the hope's that maybe just the white fish wasn't the answer.

Dogs won't eat it
By Tjrobinson16 on Jan 30, 2020
I would think that my dogs would love this food. Not true. They barely touch it. I had the Turkey formula as well and they didn't like it either. They eat the Whitefish better but not much. Won't buy it again.

Great ingredients
By Victoria on Jan 16, 2020
I'm a raw feeder so I only feed kibble if I HAVE to. If I feed kibble this brand is my go to and the only brand Rory doesn't have a bad reaction to. The food is so smelly she loves it and doesn't turn her nose up to it. Pricey but worth it!

Really Helped
By DonnaEsq on Dec 3, 2019
Our Basset Hound was super stinky and suffered from yeast. Taking out grain helped a lot but move away from chicken to whitefish and limited ingredients made all the difference. No more odd smell and no more yeast. Our bulldog ultimately switched to this too because she clearly preferred it over her food. We give both taurine supplements because we think the level is a little low in the food.
