Learning From Nature
Zignature took all of nature's best ingredients and added key nutrients to create a dog food with complete nutrition. In these Physiologically Tuned formulas, meat always comes first, and they've eliminated common allergy-inducing proteins and fillers that are hard to digest. These grain- and gluten-free recipes feature premium proteins, low glycemic carb sources and a limited number of ingredients. It's exactly what your pup should be eating—nothing more, and nothing less.
Meat-First Philosophy
The first ingredient in any list is the most important, because it tells you what the majority of the food is made of. Some commercial pet foods take the easy way out with high-starch carbs near the top of the list. In each of Zignature's dry foods, meat not only comes first, but also second. A quality animal protein source starts off the recipe, followed by a meat or fish meal for an extra helping of the amino acids your pet needs and the flavor he craves.

Recipe for a Happy Tummy
All of Zignature's formulas are free of the most common canine allergen—chicken. And that includes chicken eggs, meal and by-products. As hypoallergenic foods, both wet and dry formulas also avoid the usual sources of stomach upset, including gluten, grains, corn, wheat, soy and dairy. Zignature never uses binding agents that are full of simple carbs and starches; instead, these recipes have low glycemic legumes that deliver extra protein and fiber.
Simple Is Best
Zignature isn't just the diet nature intended—it's even better. They've improved on nature's recipe to give your pup the right amount of each nutrient, and they've done it with the fewest possible ingredients. Just like meals in the wild, these recipes are limited in content for easy digestion and less chance of food sensitivities. These limited ingredient diets have single protein sources, so they're easy to rotate to give your dog a taste of something new.

Only the Best Ingredients
To create these nourishing dishes, Zignature gathered the best possible ingredients from trusted sources around the world. Trout, salmon and whitefish all come from the Pacific waters of the Northwest; turkey is raised in the Midwest; duck comes from farms in Western France; kangaroo is brought over from Australia; and venison and lamb are delivered from New Zealand farmlands. Healthy fruits and veggies are harvested from several North American farms based on the season.
Ingredients
Zignature makes nutritious formulas with no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors.
CHICKPEAS: Low-glycemic legumes that promote stable blood sugar and provide an excellent source of dietary fiber, extra protein and copper.
FLAXSEED: Derived from whole, ground seeds of the Flax plant for an outstanding offering of omega-3 fatty acids for coat health, plus soluble fiber for digestion.
ALFALFA MEAL: A natural grass that's rich in vitamins A and C, niacin and calcium, and it also makes a great source of protein and fiber.
SUNFLOWER OIL: Pressed from sunflower oil, it supplies the omega-6 essential fatty acids that your pet needs to maintain skin and coat health.

Dog had digestion issues
By Mattie on May 7, 2020
I was giving my small 7 lb. Shih Tzu Zignatures Turkey and Zignatures Zessentials canned food mixed with tiny portions of their dry food. He was doing well on this regime until it was out of stock for quite a while. I reluctantly purchased some of their canned whitefish. After one small serving of this wet whitefish given in small quantities two days in a row, he has loose stools. Day and night. I now have 9 cans of this expensive food. I will donate it gladly. I don't think anything else can be blamed. My dog has very sensitive issues with food. I think this was too oily.

Always Pleased
By NoriAndJuniper on Apr 24, 2020
ZIGNATURE foods always go above and beyond. Sometimes when I used to buy other cans in bulk one or two cans would be “off” compared to the rest. Zig food is consistent every time, and for my dog that is prone to allergic reactions - the clear ingredients and variety allow me to provide a balanced meal for her. I also love chewy for delivering food to my house and when they’re out of a particular product, they reach out to ask for my choice in replacement. That’s customer service!!

Did not work for us
By Freddy on Jan 26, 2020
Older poodle had pancreatitis over a year ago and has been on the Royal cannin low fat canned and has had some stomach issues. The white fish seem to make things worse. After several attempts to contact Zignature on what was the max crude fat levels they final got back to me saying they do not have that information . Will donate the 6 cans I did not use to the animal schelter.

My dog is allergic to almost everything!
By vlgordon on Jul 25, 2019
My dogs eat some flavors of Zignature canned dog food and love the taste of them. However, I realized after ordering the Whitefish Formula that this particular one has an ingredient (flax seed) which my GSD is allergic to so from now on I will only order the Salmon and Mackrel and Pork flavored Zignature wet food for him and none of this brand's dry for they all have this one ingredient he cannot tolerate and I failed to catch it on the label before ordering. I love that I can read the entire label of anything prior to purchasing it. I do love the variety available for allergy sensitive dogs, the convenience of ordering, and quick delivery from Chewy for all my dog needs, including both My dogs eat some flavors of Zignature canned dog food and love the taste of them. Zignature WhiteFish Limited Ingredient Formula
By BLUberry on Sep 18, 2019
This is the first time I bought this flavor and while my dogs loved it, I found it a little dry and harder to mix with their dry food. The Catfish formula had more moisture in it. Blu and JellyBean liked it so I would buy this in the future.

Healthy Diet
By Willie on May 7, 2019
Our Beagle Hound has a food sensitivity so we needed to find something grain free for him. This brand seems to work well for him and he enjoys the different flavors he has tried.

Loving this food!
By Dogsrlove on Feb 21, 2019
We are beyond happy with Zignature canned food. We have a two year old pitbull who eats too fast. We’ve tried slow feed bowls, dehydrated food and just about everything. His stool and stomach were never right. We decided to try Zignature and it’s been a night and day difference. He loves the food. His tummy is happy. His stool is perfect. We love the care that goes in to making this food and are so impressed with the quality.

ok, but packaging needs to be updated
By Peej on Jan 1, 2019
The food is ok, but it seems a bit dry for canned food.Sticks to the can making it impossible to recycle. The dog likes it ok, but it isn't her favorite.

Great canned food
By Eleni on Aug 16, 2018
My dogs love all of the zignature canned food that I have tried, I stick with the fish ones, since fish is one of the best for one of my allergy dogs. I use the canned food to mix their probiotics and to give any medicine they need, and use it more as a treat, and they love it.

You cant judge the food by it's smell
By HappyMom on Aug 11, 2018
This Whitefish Formula is really stinky.... But when we pick this flavor to mix in with our Danes dry food for dinner they come running. They can smell it from the other room so can we lol. They devourer their dinner bowls and keep licking their bowls till it is completely clean.
