About Zignature Dog Food

Learning From Nature

Learning From Nature

Zignature took all of nature's best ingredients and added key nutrients to create a dog food with complete nutrition. In these Physiologically Tuned formulas, meat always comes first, and they've eliminated common allergy-inducing proteins and fillers that are hard to digest. These grain- and gluten-free recipes feature premium proteins, low glycemic carb sources and a limited number of ingredients. It's exactly what your pup should be eating—nothing more, and nothing less.

Meat-First Philosophy

The first ingredient in any list is the most important, because it tells you what the majority of the food is made of. Some commercial pet foods take the easy way out with high-starch carbs near the top of the list. In each of Zignature's dry foods, meat not only comes first, but also second. A quality animal protein source starts off the recipe, followed by a meat or fish meal for an extra helping of the amino acids your pet needs and the flavor he craves.

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

Recipe for a Happy Tummy

All of Zignature's formulas are free of the most common canine allergen—chicken. And that includes chicken eggs, meal and by-products. As hypoallergenic foods, both wet and dry formulas also avoid the usual sources of stomach upset, including gluten, grains, corn, wheat, soy and dairy. Zignature never uses binding agents that are full of simple carbs and starches; instead, these recipes have low glycemic legumes that deliver extra protein and fiber.

Simple Is Best

Zignature isn't just the diet nature intended—it's even better. They've improved on nature's recipe to give your pup the right amount of each nutrient, and they've done it with the fewest possible ingredients. Just like meals in the wild, these recipes are limited in content for easy digestion and less chance of food sensitivities. These limited ingredient diets have single protein sources, so they're easy to rotate to give your dog a taste of something new.

Only the Best Ingredients

Only the Best Ingredients

To create these nourishing dishes, Zignature gathered the best possible ingredients from trusted sources around the world. Trout, salmon and whitefish all come from the Pacific waters of the Northwest; turkey is raised in the Midwest; duck comes from farms in Western France; kangaroo is brought over from Australia; and venison and lamb are delivered from New Zealand farmlands. Healthy fruits and veggies are harvested from several North American farms based on the season.

Ingredients

Zignature makes nutritious formulas with no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors.

CHICKPEAS: Low-glycemic legumes that promote stable blood sugar and provide an excellent source of dietary fiber, extra protein and copper.

FLAXSEED: Derived from whole, ground seeds of the Flax plant for an outstanding offering of omega-3 fatty acids for coat health, plus soluble fiber for digestion.

ALFALFA MEAL: A natural grass that's rich in vitamins A and C, niacin and calcium, and it also makes a great source of protein and fiber.

SUNFLOWER OIL: Pressed from sunflower oil, it supplies the omega-6 essential fatty acids that your pet needs to maintain skin and coat health.

  • Glad to have made the switch to Zignature

    By on

Our long-coat German Shepherd’s hair was looking a bit dull, and I went researching new food, trying a couple for several months each. At the same time we got a new puppy, a Golden Retreiver. The golden’s breeder recommended two brands, one being Zignature. The taste must be really good, because both dig right in. This isn’t unusual food behavior for a golden, but our GSD has always been a bit ambivalent about meal time ... he eats, obviously, but he’s slow and relaxed about it ... or he was. Now he’s immediately interested. Our Golden is doing great all the way around, and our GSD has a shiny coat again. I’m glad to have several flavor choices of the formula too.

  • Great Dog Food Company

    By on

Older Maltese-Shitzu loves this food...no issues with discoloration under eyes, coat is not dry, runs around like a puppy. No worries with health and she has been primarily on this food since she finished puppy food! Not many dog food companies can compare to the care that went in to this brand. The only thing my dog can not handle in the dog food or any other brand for that matter is chicken bone meal (makes her gassy) so this is why we stick with the fish.

  • New food for a new pup

    By on

Recently I adopted a Nekkid Standard Xolo. He had a rough journey from Mexico to CA than across the country to GA. Somewhere along the journey he contracted Giardia and lost alot of weight. My Vet estimated his age to be under a year and should have weighed atleast 10lbs. more than he did. I tried another premium (puppy)food but was not satisfied with the results. I knew about Zignature foods but had never used any. I selected Zignature Zssential Multiprotein and in two weeks I have witnessed more energy, and a slight weigh gain. I will continue to use ZZ as my dog moves on toward agility. I highly recommend ZZ as the increased protein has significantly benefitted my dog. • Puppy didn't like this

    By on

Purchased after having good luck with the venision flavor. Our puppy was diagnosed with SIBO and has become picky with foods so we were happy when he was excited with the venision, however since the venison is so much more expensive I thought we would try this as a more affordable option but he refused to eat this. Seems like great quality, but our puppy refuses to eat this variety.

  • Picky eater loves it!

    By on

I was searching for a great quality food for my GSD. His previous food had cornmeal as a filler, gave him very loose stool, and some days I had to sit on the floor with him and urge him to eat. When we started transitioning to this food, he didn't hesitate when i said "time to eat!". He seems to have less shedding and his stool is much more firm. A big bonus is that he eats less food because it is of better quality.

  • Dogs love the taste and we love the benefits!

    By on

Our dogs have been eating this for two months now and the difference in them is really surprising. Their coats are shiner & softer and they don't scratch from dry skin. The biggest benefit is the change in the two older dogs. They are more energetic and playful and are getting around like much younger dogs. Another plus is how much the dogs love the food AND we are feeding them less than we did with the cheaper foods with all the fillers.

  • Dogs love it!!

    By on

I switched my dogs from Racheal Ray because they got sick and were getting hot spots from something in the food. The dogs love the Zignature, my female has allergies but she is not scratching at all since switching to Zignature. More expensive but well worth it!!

  • Pup loves it

We searched for a food that wouldn't upset my pup's tummy and landed on this one. Quality ingredients and (I'd imagine) good flavor. He hasn't had any issues since starting with this food (and his probiotics).

  • Easy transition

    By on

My little girl was eating wet food and after researching different dry food this one was everything I was looking for. Now would Charlestyn eat it? When I received that chewy box in 2 days after I ordered it I would see if she would eat it. It was a success! She loved it! She cleaned her bowl. It has everything I wanted and did not have anything I did not want for her. She is my baby and I only want the best for her.
