Have used this brand and heat mat for all my reptiles in 20 gallon tanks and 42 qt tubs for the past three years. They have never malfunctioned or caused damage. I recommend using aluminum foil tape to hold them more securely they dont stick too well.
Would not buy again!

After about one week the sticky came off the back and fell off of the aquarium. I have raised reptiles for years and have NEVER had this happen. Waste of money!
Awesome price and does it's job well

I have 2- 10 gallon terrariums and so far it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Applying was super easy and self explanatory following the directions. I used something with a flat edge with a little weight to smooth the pad onto the bottom of the tank. I ordered a small so I don't expect it to get super hot. It seems warm enough for our little leapord geckos. I felt them getting warm probably within the first 5-8 minutes. The pad has come off on part of the pad that's closer to the cord once on each one but I was able to get it to stick back to the glass. I will be keeping an eye on it to make sure it stays.

As for the small little raisers they could be a little more stickier as they don't stay on well but I have had to move their tanks a few times as they were Christmas presents for the kiddos. I did loose a couple for each tank but used a chunk of an eraser for the corners that I lost. If I find the ones intended for the tank I will hot glue them on. But for now the eraser chunks work just as good and seem to be the same thickness making the tank even.
Overall I'm 100% satisfied with the heat pad itself.

I have this for the underbelly of my bi-level 40gal gecko tank and it works well. I can say that it isn't a noticable heat that comes off of it through eco-rug. It's just a very slight temp increase. The size was perfect and fit juuuust right for the hide beneath the bi-level. The ashesive works well and hasn't really budged since I applied it. I just wish it were a bit warmer.

We carefully cleaned the aquarium surface before following the instructions to attach the heater. By the next morning it had already fallen off! After repeated attempts to stick the heater on the tank we now have it propped up on silicone pot holders in order to keep it at the glass. Not happy! I only gave it 2 stars because, once propped up, it does produce a decent amount of heat.

The overhead heat lamp was causing the whole tank to be too warm, this is much better since it is only on one side of the tank and underneath so the heat rises from under the bedding. We plugged in to the Zilla thermostat which turns it on and off to maintain a preset temp, and now don't need worry about our corn snake being comfortable. Love it!
Does The Job

I have owned Zilla pads for several years and replaced them only due to age, not malfunction. They stick well but they have to stay where you put them. Maybe one day they will be able to make a static one that can be moved to accommodate changes in the habitat. That would be my only complaint.

The rubber stickies that hold the aquarium above the surface fall off easy so you wouldn't want to move it around very much, mat stayed well clinged to the bottom of the aquarium. I used Eco Earth for my substrate about 1 inch thick and the heat came through nicely. The mat warms the warm side up to around 83°Fahrenheit
Terrible And Not Worth It

NOT INTENDED FOR A SOLO HEAT SOURCE. Although it helps provide reptile belly heat. Its not enough to heat the entire enclosure. Not recommended for cold rooms. Doesn't stick very well for very long. Requires a thermostat sold separately. Designed for glass terrariums only.

My previous heat source for the snake tank was a warming lamp. We moved the tank to a spot that the lamp wouldn't work in, so I decided to try to heat mat. It is great! Easy to install, adhered easily to the tank, and provides the warmth needed. The snake is far more active now!
