I have an American pit bull and French bulldog that love these toys. They will get one out from their toy box and entice the other in a game of tug, yet they love them for single play too. Mostly the Frenchie. They never tear them up. They mostly love the squeakers and will chew until the squeakers don't squeak anymore. It's rare for my dogs to chew on them so much that they get the squeaker out but this may not be the case for all dogs. They do enjoy chewing on them even when the squeaker is deflated. I buy these little guys every Christmas and wash them periodically throughout the year. They hold up well without any need to re-stitch holes. A great product for my dogs.
Great training toy for redirection while walking. My dog doesn't redirect the best when other dogs are present and this helps even if another dog is egging her on. Don't give dog constant access to toy if using for redirection so it's new and exciting.
We have three inside dogs (Mastiff, English Bulldog, and American Cocker Spaniel), which can destroy almost any toy. Out of this grouping of toy animals, the Fox is a favorite of Rio (Cocker Spaniel). She takes it everywhere. When I pick up the toys on the floor and put them in the toy box, she gets them out as soon as I put them in. The toy has now seen better days as it shows signs of age and big girl tug-of-war. Also, I wash and dry it weekly. It surprised me to see reviews from some that it was destroyed in minutes or swallowed in a short while. We have had some toys that are not suited for our chewers and don’t repurchase them. We have a box full of wonderful toys that have held up well. These no-stuffing toys hold up great.
Tried to replace something similar but sturdier than these. If your dog is feisty I don't recommend them. Shera had the first one destroyed within a couple of hours and a good start on the second one. Admittedly, she can tear most anything apart fairly quickly, but these were not a challenge.
Bailey has a lot of toys and she plays w/each and everyone of them, but we feel she absolutely loves playing w/these pelts!! She growls alongside w/flinging it up in the air and catching it, etc.
My 118lb Rottweiler doesn't pay much mind to the squirrels because unfortunately he can't find squeaker. They are smaller than expected and squeaker is small making it difficult for him to find therefore he just doesn't care to play with them. Little disappointed.
All my dogs love these cute toys. From my smallest of 16 lbs to my 106 lbs. The toys are not very strong so would not recommend for an aggressive chewers or tuggers or ones who like to tear things apart.
My 9 pound Chihuahua mix pup loved this toy but managed to shred it and get the squeaker out in two days. I guess he learned from that because it only took him two hours to get the squeaker out of the second one, so I wouldn't recommend for pups that tend to shred, but he loved it while it lasted.
My chocolate lab has a toy box that I keep filled. I like to try new toys to keep her stimulated. Yet, I have reordered this a few times because she enjoys them so much.
I got these for my two little chihuahua puppies. They both picked a favorite. They don't have stuffing. The squeakers aren't too pitchy or annoying and have stayed in place for my pups. The puppies love these and we love them too!
