FAQ

If I give my pet a Ziwi Peak treat, how much food should I feed?

There is a lot of goodness in every Ziwi Peak treat, so we recommend you modify the amount of Ziwi Peak food at feeding time. Your pet won’t need as much if he or she has had treats, so reduce accordingly. Much as pets love them, Ziwi Peak treats don’t make a complete daily diet. Use them as a premium real-meat treat to occasionally reward your dog or cat’s good behavior.

Yes and no... cats are funny, haha

    By on

Two of my cats loved it and two did the sniff and no thank you. But could be the flavour or the texture. The two that did love it though chowed straight through! I only wish they had chicken with whitefish since no one likes salmon. As usual Chewy's the best! Just got a happy birthday card from them for my kitty. I just love them!

    Love this food!

    By on

My human's mother sent me this food originally. I like it so much my human bought me more. It has a fabulous meat smell. Lots of great minerals and vitamins that make my coat look shiny and feel soft. My human says I look amazing. I was a street kitty and she gave me a great home. Now I am fed great things like this food. Have your humans get it for you too!

    this stuff staaanks

    By on

First and foremost, the stuff reeks. I’d rather lay in the seafood container at my local grocery store than open this in my kitchen. Anyways, I have 2 munchkins. Ones a super picky eater, and ones a little ham that’s never really turned her nose up at anything. My picky eater didn’t even give this a second glance (shocker,) but my other one doesn’t seem to mind it. I use about half a scoop as a topper for their dry food because I bought the small bag and it’s kinda pricey. Would I buy again? Maybe if I’m feeling spendy. It wouldn’t be a priority though.

    Picky eater

My cat won't touch this, even though I think it would be good for her. I'm going to try putting a few drops of water on some to see if it's softened she'll take to it. Very smelly!

    cats won't eat it

    By on

5 stars for ingredients, but my cats hate it. The pieces are like very hard tough beef jerky, and my cats don't like this texture. If your cat will eat it, then wonderful. I wish it was moister and softer. I even grinded some in my Vitamix to a powder and mixed it in with wet food. This is more acceptable to them, but diminished the purpose of a dry kibble that I can leave out all day, versus another wet food. Good luck.

    Not for everyone

    By on

My cats won’t eat it at all. First day they nibbled on it and then wouldn’t touch it for the whole week I tried to feed it to them. For 20$ tiny package, I expected more

    Kittens tore into the bag

    By on

My 2 kittens wanted the food so bad that they chewed through the bag it to get to the contents. It’s a major hit with them. Side note: they will eat anything, but they shredded this bag in minutes. I have to hide it to avoid a mess. Even my picky eater will munch on a few on occasion.

Our cats would not eat this

    By on

After mixing this in with their regular food for two weeks, our cats always ate their regular food and left the Ziwi in the bowl. It might work for other cats but not for ours.

Contains great ingredients but has pungent smell

    By on

My cat (Snow Bengal) likes it, though it has pungent fishy smell (bc of the mackerel and green mussels). I feed him half a scoop in addition to canned/dry food. I think it’ good for growing muscles and supply proteins. But still a bit pricey for the amount received.

Very Expensive for so little amount

    By on

I usually get dried cat food and wet food, I give it to my cat in the hopes that his blood sugars will level off. He became diabetic from his age and his previous food. He is 12 years old. I bought one bag in two flavors, Lamb and Beef but got two of Lamb, very weird. I was concerned of how expensive the food was and how it was such a tiny bag. But then I mixed it into his current dried food and the cat went ahead and picked out all the ziwi food! He loves this food and I was worried over nothing because of how hard it is but he eats it just fine. I bought this food for its high protein and it is just great. He seems to love the lamb and fish combo, it literally smells like fresh fish when you I usually get dried cat food and wet food, I give it to my cat in the hopes that his blood sugars will level off. I plan on mixing this in for a long time with his other food as he has need for lots of fiber and protein. Due to being diabetic. … more
