Feed ZiwiPeak to your pet on a daily basis using the ration guide above. Puppies / Kittens / Pregnant or Nursing Females: Feed approx. double the amount indicated, in 2 - 3 feedings per day. It is important when changing your pet's diet that you have a slow introduction across a 7 day period. For your pet's health and well - being they should always have access to fresh, clean water.

Transition Instructions

Sudden changes in diet, including overfeeding, can sometimes result in digestive issues. Always introduce any new food by slowly mixing with your current diet for the first 6-8 days, increasing the amount of Ziwi Peak while decreasing the amount of the other brand.

Frequently Asked Questions

If I give my pet a Ziwi Peak treat, how much food should I feed?

There is a lot of goodness in every Ziwi Peak treat, so we recommend you modify the amount of Ziwi Peak food at feeding time. Your pet won’t need as much if he or she has had treats, so reduce accordingly. Much as pets love them, Ziwi Peak treats don’t make a complete daily diet. Use them as a premium real-meat treat to occasionally reward your dog or cat’s good behavior.

  • Love the ingredients and quality

    By on

My cat really likes this now. At first he was used to "cat junk food" and wouldn't eat this. I held strong with making this work b/c the ingredients and quality beat almost every other canned cat food out there. My cat tried the "I'll just starve routine" but I stuck to my guns. He finally got hungry, and now goes crazy over this. My one complaint is that it's so expensive!!!

  • So disappointed they added chickpeas!

    By on

My cat loved the old beef recipe as did I. She liked the taste and texture and I liked that there were no unnecessary ingredients. Now, she'll eat it but never more than half. The old formula was wetter, this is sticky and dry. Looking for a replacement as I have been leaning on Tikicat Tuna and Mackeral far too much.

  • Boys scarf it up....

    By on

Two of my boys have crystals in their urine. After taking both of them to the vet recently for UTI's, I did a lot of research. I found only a couple cat foods technically good for them. Aside from cooking raw chicken and feeding them like a toddler, ONLY Ziwi Peak and Blue Buffalo mature grain-free Freedom canned food are healthy enough with out the phosphates and magnesium. I never heard of this Ziwi Peak brand, because its from New Zealand. But thankfully Chewy sells their products. They're prices are high. But if it means keeping my furry children healthy and alive, I'll buy it. Too bad I didn't know this out two years ago. .....Rest in peace my precious Sheba and Felicity.

  • Used to be good cat food

    By on

I used to purchase the old formula for my cat, which he enjoyed. This new formula makes him sick. Every single time I feed him this brand, he throws it all up immediately after eating it. Will not be buying again.

  • Loved old formula but won't touch the new one

    By on

Am very disappointed that my cat, who absolutely loved the original formula, won't touch this new one. It is very dry and doesn't look as appetizing. I've tried adding water and/or mixing some of the original formula with the new one (at Ziwipeak's suggestion) but it's like throwing good food after bad. It doesn't get touched. I totally understand this is supposed to be a more healthy formula without any gums but it seems it has become so healthy as to become unpalatable.

  • Excellent ingredients

    By on

Took off 1 star for taste. Apparently it's not that tasty as kitties will only eat it if lightly warmed and they are VERY hungry.

  • New formula is good!!

    By on

I was a little apprehensive about ordering the new formula, since it got some negative reviews from some old formula users...but my cat has never tried ziwipeak before and he very much enjoys the new formula!! The ingredients in this formula are as good as it gets in wetfood...and so we are both happy :)

I wasn't sure how Sam would like ZiwiPeak, but he loves it. And I love it for it's purity.

  • New Label

    By on

I was sent a case of the New Ziwi Beef 3 oz cans. I read that they slightly changed their ingredients for the better and had a new label. My two cats loved it. I am going to buy only the new labeled food. I like that Chewy has a choice with some of the flavors of original or the new. I love that Ziwi is always improving their brand and I feel it is the healthiest of the canned cat foods. Our two 7 year old cats enjoy, the lamb, rabbit/lamb, venison and beef daily. I feed them small meals a day and purchase the small cans so they have a fresh different flavor each meal.

  • Amazing food with quality ingredients and no gums!

    By on Top 250 Contributor

Ziwipeak's previous formula worked well for my potential IBD kitten but the use of agar agar as a thickening agent caused him to have tummy troubles as I suspect he has an intolerance to gums. While using chickpeas is not ideal, it cuts out the use of agar agar and doesn't put so much strain on his digestion. The food is slightly thicker but all you have to do is add water to get it to the consistency you and your cat prefers. My kitten was ravenous for this new food and I'm very excited to have a food that will agree with his stomach and contains no gums, agar agar, or carrageenan!
