FAQ

If I give my pet a Ziwi Peak treat, how much food should I feed?

There is a lot of goodness in every Ziwi Peak treat, so we recommend you modify the amount of Ziwi Peak food at feeding time. Your pet won’t need as much if he or she has had treats, so reduce accordingly. Much as pets love them, Ziwi Peak treats don’t make a complete daily diet. Use them as a premium real-meat treat to occasionally reward your dog or cat’s good behavior.

About Ziwi

Air-Dried Recipes

Ziwi naturally preserves their dry dog and cat food by air-drying it, eliminating the need for artificial preservatives, salts, sugars or glycerines. Their slow, gentle, twin stage air-drying process results in a food that's as nutrient-dense and digestible as a completely raw diet, but safe and clean to handle, and can store for up to 21 months.  A little goes a long way, the recipes are so packed with the good stuff your pet needs to thrive, that you can actually feed him less than what you might be used to.

One of the very few GF foods which energetically tests free of gluten

    By on

Most other "GF" foods in fact contain gluten, marketed as such because they are free of grains on the ingredient list. Reading labels, I note many products advertise "grain free" despite containing rice.... Manufacturers are currently advertising "grain free" despite grains being milled into flour (making it no longer a "grain") and fail to test their products which contain glutenous additives. This holds true for the human food industry as well (soy sauce made with wheat, balsamic vinegar made from barley..?) Ziwi includes bone, cartilage, organ meat - essential for carnivores, but absent in products marketed by the 7 pet food corporations, all of whom use the same inferior, contaminated sources Most other "GF" foods in fact contain gluten, marketed as such because they are free of grains on the ingredient list. Be prepared for a strong smell

    By on

This food is good quality but the smell of the beef one is very strong. Especially after re-opening it even when it's in the fridge. Tried to use the whole case as fast as possible just to get rid of it. Every time I fed my cat the whole kitchen would smell too. My cat seems to prefer the same brand chicken one a lot more to this recipe. The chicken one doesn't have an overwhelming smell to it. Will stay away from ordering this one again.

    The Cat wasn't a fan

    By on

I was impressed by all of the benefits and the bad stuff missing, however the Cat didn't really care for it, much dryer than her other favorite canned brand.

    Finally stopped upset gastric upset

    By on

Our cats have a poultry allergy. After months of dealing with diarrhea and searching for something they would actually eat we found ziwi. They love this food and the variety. It is expensive but I am willing to pay the price for healthy happy pets.

    Cat didn't like it!

    By on

Amazing quality food but my cat has no interest in it. He has tried many different types of canned food since I'm trying to find the perfect one for him. Such a bummer because I thought I'd found the best of the best! And I can't try the other flavors because they all contain meats he can't have.

    My cats love this food

    By on

If you want top quality with no fillers and organic sourced meats for your cats this is product is exceptional. It is pricey but I feel it is well worth it . Closest thing to homemade cat food other then Primal freeze dried food . Cat food unfortunately is time consuming and hard to master if trying to make yourself. I wanted the best for my cats since they are strictly indoor cats. After doing a lot of reading on cat food ( pet foods in general) I made the determination that Ziwi Peak canned and dry cat food would best suit my cats needs . They love the chicken and beef flavors.

    Superior Quality

    By on Top 100 Contributor

My kitty decided she didn't like the beef, but ZiwiPeak is an amazingly good food. Top notch ingredients, sourcing, and production. BPA free cans. You'd be hard-pressed to do better. If your cat is a beef fan, I'd recommend trying a can from a local pet store, and if kitty gobbles it up, what are you waiting for? I'm rating this food 4 out of 5 stars, as I love it, but kitty didn't.

    Positive changes in cat

    By on

12 days ago my cat who is getting older (14) was sluggish, smelled a little weird and very thin. I was feeding him fish wet food. I did some research as I was concerned for him and came across this food. In the last 12 days he has eaten it he has gained a few Poinds, Smells normal and his fur is so much softer. It seems like he can get around easier too. I highly recommend this food. Worth the price.
