FAQ

If I give my pet a Ziwi Peak treat, how much food should I feed?

There is a lot of goodness in every Ziwi Peak treat, so we recommend you modify the amount of Ziwi Peak food at feeding time. Your pet won’t need as much if he or she has had treats, so reduce accordingly. Much as pets love them, Ziwi Peak treats don’t make a complete daily diet. Use them as a premium real-meat treat to occasionally reward your dog or cat’s good behavior.

About Ziwi

The Ziwi Difference

Ziwi carefully crafts their food to mirror the whole-prey, meat-rich diet dogs and cats require for a long, happy, healthy life. Their small, dedicated team proudly handcrafts Ziwi in small batches each day. With a passion for pets around the world, they are driven to put the very best of their New Zealand home into every recipe.

The Ziwi Difference
Free-Range, Grass-Fed

Free-Range, Grass-Fed

All ingredients are sourced from the green, free-range farms and blue, pristine oceans of New Zealand. Meats are sourced from humane, ethical and sustainably managed local farms. And fish is caught in the southern oceans of New Zealand, strictly managed to ensure maximum sustainability.

Air-Dried Recipes

Ziwi naturally preserves their dry dog and cat food by air-drying it, eliminating the need for artificial preservatives, salts, sugars or glycerines. Their slow, gentle, twin stage air-drying process results in a food that's as nutrient-dense and digestible as a completely raw diet, but safe and clean to handle, and can store for up to 21 months.  A little goes a long way, the recipes are so packed with the good stuff your pet needs to thrive, that you can actually feed him less than what you might be used to.

Moist Meal Options

Moist Meal Options

Ziwi has moist dog and cat food recipe options too, Ziwi implements a small batch canning process to deliver high meat and moisture-rich recipes at higher can weights using the same free-range proteins that can be stored for up to three years.

Only the Good Stuff

Made with your pet's health in mind, Ziwi is made with absolutely no grains, corn, wheat, soy, rice, rendered meats, animal meals, meat by-products, cheap filler ingredients, starches like white potatoes and sweet potatoes, ethoxyquin, pea protein, salt, sugar, glycerine, artificial flavors or colors, antibiotics, growth hormones, or ingredients from China. Just pure New Zealand goodness that helps your pet thrive.

Best dog food on the market

    By on

Not sure why anyone would give this less the 5 stars. High quality ingredients make for happy healthy dogs. Yes its expensive but you will extend the life of your dog and save on vet bills. My two dogs are my kids and they deserve to have a high quality diet as much as I do.

    Dented cans

    By on

Beware of damaged cans when ordering a case of this canned food. At least 5 cans had dents in my order. I don't blame Chewy.com; the case was sealed/ packed at manufacturer.

    Another Big Hit

    By on

This was, as usual, a HUGE hit with both of our dogs. I am still trying to figure out if they like the dry or the canned better, I believe it is a tie.

    Dogs like it!

    By on

I trust Zizi Peak to make a good product for the dogs. They like the gently air dried New Zealand Beef and can beef recipe. Gobble it right down. Dog gone good.

    Hold the beef!

    By on

It can't hold a candle to canned Ziwi Peak Venison which is about $25. more per case. You get what you pay for, but this Ziwi Peak Beef isn't exactly cheap either!!! Nothing can help both my dogs to have firm stools again. Not their costly probiotics, not pumpkin, not rice, nothing!

    More food than fillet

    By on

My dog, for the first time, went straight to the plate and began eating on her own. I have always had to coax her. I think because this (expensive) food is real meat and fish, rather than a lot of guar gum and other slosh.

    Good, expensive food

    By on

This canned all natural food from New Zealand is obviously excellent quality. But boy is it expensive. I wish it was cheaper. Or I wish when you by a certain number of cans, you get one free, or some sort of incentive like that. Thanks.

    Great training treats

    By on

I use these as training treats. They are small, soft and my dogs (2 Malinois and a GSD) will do ANYTHING to get them.
