    Good but Odd Smell

By Gaxx on Sep 23, 2021

I thought this would be an excellent food to give my 2 cats, but it has an odd smell, I did give them a taste they didn’t touch it. I tried to mix it with their favorite wet food a little at a time but they wouldn’t touch it. It’s that weird smell cats can smell a lot more than us, so if I think it’s odd they must think it’s Horrifying! Well some kitties in a shelter will have a good meal. This was a $$ mistake.

    This food is great!

By Emily on Jun 28, 2021

One of my cats stopped eating his previous Instinct Original food (which contains some peas, unfortunately) and he was diagnosed with potential IBS. He would only take a couple bites of his food and I’d have to sit next to his bowl and constantly call him back over to finish the rest. When I saw that Ziwi Peak’s new Provenance line of food didn’t contain any legumes/grains/gums I decided to give it a try. I’ve been feeding it to my cat for about three weeks now, and at first he treated it like his old food, but after about a week, he’s been devouring the entire bowl and meowing for more!! So so so happy with this food.

Need a gas mask with this stuff

By Jaspurr on Jun 4, 2021

This is the absolute worst smelling cat food I've ever used. Even with the windows and doors open it stunk up the house. 2 of my cats tried it, were not enthusiastic at all. The other 4 won't touch it. I'm very disappointed, as it sounded as though it would be a great product, particularly as I have to use grain free for my old cat. I'm going to have to donate it to a rescue.

    Very smelly

By Anon on Jun 29, 2021

This stinks. Literally, smells really bad, very strong fishy/shellfishy smell. At first my cats were like "oh what is that intriguing smell?" Now they are like "it's gross, we are not eating it." I'll be returning it.

By Paula on May 30, 2021

My cat's LOVE ZiwiPeak! Every flavor. We are long time fans of this. We order this in bulk as much as we can. Worth every penny. So healthy for my babies. Their poop is less. No diet issue's.

    My cats love it!

By Mikki on Jan 23, 2021

Of the 3 new Ziwi flavors this is my cats’ favorite! They all love it and I didn’t even have to mix it with their old flavor, they just devoured it! I love the ingredients and the fact that there aren’t any ingredients that they should not have. I hope that Ziwi keeps these 3 new flavors chickpea, pea and legume free as they have changed their formula before to later include chickpeas which really sucked. And they didn’t give the consumer the difference in cost either. This food is expensive and it should have only the best ingredients.

THANK YOU ZIWI for making more cost effective varieties :-)

By Ginger on Dec 9, 2020

After RIDICULOUS amount of research, I have concluded Ziwi is the best canned food on the market and my boys can't get enough of the Venison and Rabbit&Lamb (the two most expensive, OF COURSE). They don't love the Chicken or the Beef but do enjoy the Mackeral&Lamb but not as much as the others but TOO BAD as I have to offset cost somehow. That being said, I was delighted to see these new, much more cost effective varietals (Otago Valley & East Cape) and am on 2nd case of both and so far, so good! Also low or maybe no carb as well with the absence of the chickpeas in the original varietals (waiting for answer to that question)? It smells - no, it stinks

    By AudAnn on Dec 1, 2020 top500Contributor

Wow, I'm prefacing this negative review of Otago ZiwiPeak with the fact that I serve four other flavors of Ziwi - Hauraki Plains (a favorite); Mackerel/Lamb; Beef; and the Lamb. Otago Valley is something else though. Two home bound cats and 2 strays will NOT touch it, - in fact they all smell this food from afar and the strays leave to hunt another day. lol. My two inside cats - dear things - look at me and their eyes say, "Do you not love me anymore?" I will not be purchasing Otago again. lol. The other flavors that I do purchase are well liked and I have four cats with shiny, beautiful coats.

please for the love of god, skip this

By ramy on Dec 2, 2020

my cats are NOT picky. there's three of them, and they both hated this. sniffed the food bowl, walked away. the kittens had a bit, but they ended up coughing after having juuust enough. there's white bits in the food, god only knows what that is. and it smells bland? like hello, it's cat food, not stale floor crackers. long story short: save yourself money and look elsewhere for premium cat food, 'cause this ain't it.

    Kitty Loves it!!

By StellaBean on Nov 16, 2020

The three "special" varieties of Ziwi Peaks canned cat food are hands down the best ingredients I have ever seen in a wet cat food. No starches, fillers, grains, lentils, or legumes! My cat absolutely loves this food and although its pricey, you're paying for quality and its absolutely worth it.
