Bring the sun indoors for your bird pals with the Zoo Med Avian Sun Compact Fluorescent Bird Lamp. This lamp is specially designed to provide beneficial UVA and UVB―the full spectrum of natural sunlight that birds need to thrive and stay healthy, both physically and psychologically. Birds need UVB to make vitamin D3 which is essential for growth, overall health, and reproduction, and they use UVA to see colors, recognize mates, locate food, and identify different species. This compact fluorescent bulb provides a balanced light spectrum and is self-ballasted so you can use it in most fixtures, either indoors or outdoors.

  • Love this light!

I'm thrilled with this light! Each bird has their own and get to experience this light all day. I turn them on first thing in the morning and off for the night. Highly recommend this for your bird and his or her health! Be sure to angle it where people are not looking directly at the bulb. While these are very beneficial for your bird, I have read they can be harmful to the human eye. That's why I use the zoo med floor lamps and angle these over top each cage. The light stays focused on the birds area.
