We give our 3 year old Betta pellets as his main diet but when I saw this item I thought it would be a fun way to get some extra interaction with the fish. The pieces are mostly whole & the wheel comes with a little scoop, even handier: the scoop has a tiny pair of tines on the other end so you can pick up a single blood worm. Why is that a cool feature? The fish quickly recognizes that the tool equals food & it will come up to grab the treat. The pack is a bit too full at first so it’s hard to open without spilling so we where careful to barely open it at first to help mitigate the potential for a mess (it comes with a lot, relative to the size of a beta fish since their stomach is about the size of their eye; this might outlast the fish).
I have quite the variety of food and snack for my boy. These I love but I didn’t keep them in the wheel of course. I put them in mini salt / pepper containers and grind them down into smaller pieces when need be. My betta loves it and it’s a good food with no additives. Much cheaper here than your local chain pet food store too!
The "treats" spill out everywhere in a gross powdery mess which I would put up with but my betta won't eat any of the different treats. Can not recommend.
This was a waste of money for me as I seem to have the pickiest betta fish ever! He didn't eat any of the treats which ended up dirtying his water and giving him a temporary bout of dropsy. I plan to just feed it to fish in my 30-gal tank as they seem to eat anything that my betta fish refuses to eat.
I feed my betta his regular food in the morning and when I get home from work late at night he gets a tiny scoop of this treat, he likes them.
It works like it’s supposed to, but the pieces are a little big.
Excellent, love the mix..... Willie my Betta, needed a couple of days to get used to the different flavors but once he did, he took to them quite well! "Thank you CHEWY"!
If you have a betta then you know it seems like they are always hungry! I thought this was a great idea for giving my betta a little variety. When I opened it I noticed that the quality of the food was horrible. Some of it was powder like and overly broken down and some of it was so hard and in huge chunks my betta couldn't eat it. You spend more time trying to find product that is decent enough to feed your betta. Very low quality food! The only nice thing about this product is the small spoon. I bought some other treats at the local store (same things different company) and I use the spoon that came with the "Dial-A-Treat" so I guess it was good for that.
I wanted to give my betta some variety in his diet, so I bought these treats. Unfortunately, he doesn’t really care for any of the treats and would rather have his regular pellet food. Maybe he’s just picky?
Be sure to skim excess food out, bc something grows from its waste.
