  • Cheap, but it works...

    By on

I bought this thermometer to monitor water and basking area temperatures for an aquatic turtle. I liked that it didn't cost much and had a probe that I could use in both dry areas and underwater. It works well, but I did have a little trouble with it out of the package. I couldn't get it to turn on, and after replacing the battery it came with to no avail, I realized the battery contact wasn't making a good connection. I bent the metal tab that touches the battery just slightly up and the unit works fine now. Also, if you purchase this, you should realize that the temperature readings aren't instant. You need to wait a few minutes for the probe to report an accurate temperature.

Nice little thermometer! Out of the way and great for letting me know the temp of my Bearded Dragons cage! I'm really happy with Chewy!!! They always get my stuff to me fast and safely!

  • Not bad for the price

I love these thermometers. I use one on each side of my snake tank, along with the strip thermometers in the back for comparison. My only complaint is that they seem to be off (they read cooler) by a degree or two. My heat gun always reads a little higher. I don't mind though as I keep this in mind when referencing the reading. They run on battery power so you don't have to occupy a plug. The cords are long enough to move around your tank as well.

  • Better Than Others!

I bought this for my leopard geckos terrarium because I had two thermometers that stuck to the sides of his house (on the warm side and cool side). I was shocked to see that after placing the probe on the ground of his hot side, it was actually 10 degrees hotter than he one stuck to his hot side said!!! I'm glad I bought this because turns out I've kept his hot side of his tank way too hot and would've never known!!

  • Great addition.

I have the dual analog for the ‘cooler’ side of the tank...this is great for checking other places...I usually keep it in the basking area, but can easily move it around.

  • not accurate

Temperature reading changes significantly within seconds. One moment it might read 99°F and then two seconds later it reads 68°F.

  • Works Amazing for accurate hot side reading

    By on

I bought 2 of these because I have 2 terrariums. I HIGHLY recommend this as the manual one does not tell you the temperature for the "hot" side of your tank. The manual one does the temperature for the whole tank as the digital comes with a probe. The instructions say to place the probe against the glass using the suction cup but I was advised to just lay it inside the tank where the heating pad is directly under the light so you have an accurate temperature for the hot side only. I am so thankful for this advice as for when I had it on the glass itself it was approximately 8-10 degrees cooler than being directly on the hot side. • It works but not correctly

    By on

The thermometer works except it’s would say the temp is something crazy like 140+ degrees Fahrenheit so then I’d check it with another and it would read at 87 degrees. So it worked just not accurately.

  • Not accurate

    By on

It’s not accurate at all. It would say my snakes hot side was 70 degrees and a temperature gun would say it was 90 degrees.
