    Cheap, but it works...

By KateC on Sep 5, 2018

I bought this thermometer to monitor water and basking area temperatures for an aquatic turtle. I liked that it didn't cost much and had a probe that I could use in both dry areas and underwater. It works well, but I did have a little trouble with it out of the package. I liked that it didn't cost much and had a probe that I could use in both dry areas and underwater. It works well, but I did have a little trouble with it out of the package. I couldn't get it to turn on, and after replacing the battery it came with to no avail, I realized the battery contact wasn't making a good connection. I bent the metal tab that touches the battery just slightly up and the unit works fine now. Also, if you purchase this, you should realize that the temperature readings aren't instant. You need to wait a few minutes for the probe to report an accurate temperature. … more

Not useful for bearded dragon habitat

By Allie on Aug 23, 2017

I realized that having a permanently installed thermometer was not necessary because the temperature is not likely to fluctuate as long as the lighting remains the same. Also, temperature that I needed to measure most was that of the basking area. Also, temperature that I needed to measure most was that of the basking area. Leaving the probe on the basking area would not be good because it would get in the way of my bearded dragon. I bought an infrared/laser thermometer which is working out really well. … more

  • It works but not correctly

The thermometer works except it’s would say the temp is something crazy like 140+ degrees Fahrenheit so then I’d check it with another and it would read at 87 degrees. So it worked just not accurately.

  • Not accurate

It’s not accurate at all. It would say my snakes hot side was 70 degrees and a temperature gun would say it was 90 degrees.
