Our tortoise really disliked this bedding. We typically buy the Zoo Med Forest Floor Natural Cypress Mulch Reptile Bedding, but it was out of stock, so we went with this bedding as a new option for the time being. When we replaced his bedding, instead of sleeping in his cave, I found him sleeping in his food bowl the next morning (he had never done this before). He also had a difficult time eating as his food and water were covered in dust. I immediately gave him a bath and replaced the bedding only one day later with a backup bag of different bedding that I kept around for emergencies (good thing I did). Zoo Med Forest Floor Natural Cypress Mulch = Yes! Tortoise loves Zoo Med Eco Earth Loose Coconut Fiber Substrate = Nope
I have a 45lbs sulcata tortoise and I put this in his outside doghouse that he sleeps in at night,I add alot of timothy hay on top.using this allows him to dig a spot like in the wild.It keeps him warm and helps retain the days heat. It sure makes cleaning up in his house easier too. This is great for all size tortoises and won't cause impaction like wood chips.Buy the big bag, you'll love it.
Love it. Right moisture when first put into the tank and holds moisture nice.
makes a lovely cozy home for a box turtle
Makes a mess of there food and water
Works perfect for my hamster, she loves digging in it
This is a soft material but was a lot finer than I expected. I feel so-so about it and am not sure I will purchase again.
I use this for my long haired syrian hamster Humphrey and he love it
I was told for being the first time crested gecko owner to get the coconut substrate so I looked on chewy and I found this. It's supposed to come today so I'm really looking forward to trying it out and I was wondering if anyone that has had or have a gecko is this a good choice? And if it is will my gecko be a little bit more lively?
Dirts good, who doesn’t love good dirt? Also, box cat approved
