  • happy home!

My baby girl has truly been soooo happy ever since i changed her enclosure with this. And i got her the vitamin spray. She's truly the happiest snake I've ever seen. She's always out and about enjoying her home. This has helped her skin become so much smoother too. And it's super easy to clean. I'm happy i made the switch. Humidity holds so much better and longer too. And i haven't had any odors. None whatsoever.

  • Best for my tortoise!

I mixed Natural Cypress Mulch Substrate with Eco Earth Coconut Fiber Substrate and its absolutely wonderful, I prefer mixing because it's a lot easier for my Vincent to burrow, he's having so much fun! Both easy to clean, non sticky, doesn't get in his nose, I really suggest both of these from Chewy! Very great prices.

I have a Merauke bts, which requires a higher than average humidity (50 and above). I don't like humid hides, and Homer do not use them. He likes to dig and need the humidity to help him shed. After switching to different substrates (cocobark, jungle mix, cypress mulch, etc), I think we finally found the right substrate. The mulch was ok for humidity, great on price but terrible for burrowing. Jungle mix was pricy, limited to certain stores and had the best humidity retention. Cocobark was a complete disaster. This coco fiber substrate falls in between jungle mix and mulch: reasonable price, easy to find, above average in humidity and burrowing. Homer seems to like this, as he started to explore and burrow. It's too early to say how well it holds humidity compared to jungle mix which, to be fair, was a moss mix. Misting the substrate helps as well if you want to raise the humidity without the cost of sphagnum moss, which can be pricey. And as usual, Chewy had the best price and shipping was fast. I look forward to more reptile items being added to Chewy's inventory. … more

My Albino Pac-Man Frog loves it! He has multiple burrows in it around cork wood inserts and a platos plant. It keeps the humidity very well and is not terribly messy on clean up day.

I use this for my 3 hermit crabs and 2 crested geckos. It maintains humidity better than any other substrate than I have tried, plus great price.Just beware: don't use for leopard geckos, bearded dragons and other hot desert reptiles, you may be thinking, well duh, but you'd be suprised how many people wonder that question. Do ur research people!! :D
