Will this fit in a .5 gallon tank?? My betta would love this and I feel so bad for him because unfortunately I really shouldn't have a fish (my landlord said no) but he was dying in the petstore and I couldn't help but snag him up so I really need to give him some toys that are small enough!
Answer by ChewySep 24, 2017
Your betta's tank must be a minimum of 2 gallons for this log to fit inside.

Will this product sink overtime?
Answer by ChewyJul 23, 2019
This log will not sink over time as it features a patent pending floating design. While this product doesn't sink, the Zoo Med Ceramic Betta Log sinks to the bottom of your betta enclosure to provide the perfect sleeping den or hideout spot.

Is this product made from real wood and will it affect water hardness in any way? I've read that wood can reduce water hardness and the fish I have require hard water.
Answer by ChewyMay 11, 2018
This product is not made from real wood. It's made with a ceramic exterior and heavy plastic.

can I use this in a 200 gallon tank
Answer by ChewyOct 20, 2020
The Floating Betta Log requires a minimum 2 gallon container size and can be used in larger tanks.

They all love it

I love this thing and so does my female betta. It is her own special spot that she only lets her friends hang out in. My pleco also likes to hang out on the underside of it. I have been feeding my betta through the hole in the top so now she goes to her log whenever it is feeding time. Which is a lot of fun. The only draw back is when it gets caught in the current. It moves around a lot and will be sent spinning when it hits the outtake flow. To prevent this I have trapped it behind the taller plants. It would be nice if it had an option to use a suction cup with it to keep it stationary, but other than that, I am happy with this purchase.

Carl approved

Carl loves this floating log to hide on or to speed through when he gets the zoomies. Must have for a betta tank!

Betta floating log

My Bettas absolutely love these logs. Bettaboy spends most of day and night in log resting and peeking out. Flokie loves to swim in and out of his. Chewy was fast and efficient in delivery of same

Small but I like it

I have it floating around my everglades tank for the flag fish and guppies to use but so far nobody seems interested. I still like it tho. It looks better than I honestly expected. I figured it be like cheap painted foam but it's a pretty nice job compared to some other similar items I've gotten from zoo med (like the small floating turtle ledge).

Paul loves it!

Our log was originally delivered with a 48lb of cat litter and got smashed during delivery. Chewy was so awesome to send a replacement immediately along with some lockable treats for our cat, Rocky Balboa. Paul LOVES this float! Within 2 hours of putting it in his tank, he already made home of it! Thanks Chewy for being so awesome, as always!

Fish seems to like it

My betta fish Athena seems to like this log! She swims through it often. I would recommend using the feeding hole to get your fish to try it out. It also tends to slowly spin due to water currents from filter so keep that in mind. Although this didn’t stop my fish from interacting with it.

essential for your fishy!

I see so many reviews with their bettas in tiny tanks or bowls. PLEASE don’t get one if you don’t Atleast have a 5 gallon.

not a good product

this product is cheaply made. As soon as I received mine I soaked it in water & was gently cleaning it & black particles started coming off. Why would you want to put something like that in a fish tank for the product to start having little pieces of paint or plastic coming off & your betta eating it?!! Nope, this will be going in the trash
