  • Great floating food

The package was delivered two days after I ordered it and I was surprised by how big it was; it's a great replacement for the small store bought cans that I bought every month. I was using wardley/reptomin floating pellets before and the food in this package is more sphere shaped like dog food that stick shape like the pellets I had been using, so I thought I'd have to wean my RES into eating them, but she had no problem eating the new pellets and they seem to me like they have more substance; one pellet is equivalent to two sticks. My only complaint is that the pellets seem to be more oily than the others I've used in the past, but that's easy to overlook. I'm not sure how the pellets affect water balance/clarity as my pond has a major algae problem at the time. The ingredients seem to be in line with industry standard. … more

  • Some Improvement

They're is waste from sinking pellets but it's better than the Wardley product. Right now it's the only food he'll eat. When I reorder it will be the larger size.

  • Great price for a great product!

This is an absolutely great price for this size of bottle! (11 for 45oz) If you buy these in store, you get so much less (around 3-5 oz!) and pay the same price. This is a HUGE bottle. My turtle is 12 years old, and she is 8-9 inches long. These are perfect for her size-wise. So, if you have a small baby turtle, less than 3-4 inches, I'm not sure that the pellets would be small enough for them. I estimate this size of container will last my turtle, feeding every other day, atleast 2-3 months! If you look at a pencil eraser, the diameter is around the size of that. I'm in the process of upgrading my filter, so these do cloud the water (but no more than other food sticks on the market), but if This is an absolutely great price for this size of bottle! I love the fact that Chewy sells more than just dog and cat products. I use to dread going to my local per store to get food for my pet turtle. I would spend $13 on a small bottle of food. Here at Chewy's, I purchase the same item I usually purchase but it comes to me in an economy size container for the same price if I were to purchase it at my local pet store. Thank you Chewy!

  • Beware of food clogging filter

    By on

This food does not do well in tanks. If even 1 pellet is not eaten, the food forms a sludge and clogs the filter by the next day (even if 1 pellet is not eaten). The turtles love this food for taste as it is the first thing they try to eat. Just feed 1 pellet at a time.
