bulb fell apart???
Usually these bulbs work great for me, but I decided to upgrade to a higher uvb at my vets recommendation ans this bulb blew out almost immediately. Not even blew out, it fell apart?? I've never seen this happen. I went to turn on my turtles lights for the day and it wouldn't turn on, so I checked the bulb and it looked like this. I installed the bulb the day before yesterday and it was fine for the first few days.
Do not buy this product
First time buying. Bought these lights because they were a great price. They are not bright enough. My tortoise will not go over to the side of the tank that this light is on. :( Do not buy these lights.
Bulb blew out
Bulb died shortly after arrival. Waste of money. Very disappointed.
Waste of money
Arrived shot. Not bright enough for a basking light. Don’t waste your money, just go ahead and buy a heat lamp it’ll do the same job.
Weak light
Produces almost no light! In zoomed double fixture it does not illuminate anything more than 2" away.
I love chewy!
I ordered this and two basking bulbs so I figured they'd come separately from the three bags of 25-30lb food && canned dog food. Honestly I was a little curious and worried to see two big boxes getting dropped off. But, All arrived in working condition and packed with love! The bubble wrap and boxing kept all the bulbs intact. I am so in love with chewy for the S&H, wide selection, and obviously their dedication and outstanding love for their customers & our pets.
Dont ship light bulbs with 100 lbs of bird seed in the same box.
Dont know if the bulb worked, I was refunded, but they sent a glass bulb with over 100 lbs of bird seed. Seems logical to pack them in the same box
Not for a bearded dragon
From everyone I’ve talked to, through their experiences, this is not recommended for a dragon and shouldn’t be listed or marketed as such. It can be used for leopard geckos and has plenty of uvb for them. However, inadequate uvb can cause MBD (metabolic bone disease) in your dragon so do not use these. Instead use them for the species who do not need as much UVB.
best turtle uvb bulb
honestly cant find a better one than this!! its so good and works for a long time. ALWAYS REPLACE EVERY 6-9 MONTHS. it says a year but its not true the uvb is almost gone by that time. ive been using this bulb recommended by my vet. used to use the 5.0 but his shell needed some growing she said since hes a baby. i place this 7 inches over his tank even though it says 11, but i have the lamp holder thats connected to the heat bulb so i just keep them together. his shell is nice and hard. definitely worth it and cheaper on chewy.
