It’s the ideal 24-hour heat source for tropical or temperate reptilian species that can be used on its own or with other heaters. Made with a solid state nichrome heating element, it’s ideal for use with reptile, amphibian, small animal or plant terrariums. Setting it up is easy―use the adhesive side to stick it directly either on the side or the bottom outside of your terrarium. It’s designed for optimum heat transfer and can be used with a thermostat or with additional heaters for reptiles that need a bit more heat. Plus, it’s laboratory tested and UL listed for safety so it’s safe to use in your home, and uses a low 16 watts of power.

  • Best way to keep heated

    By on

These mats are the best way to keep a gecko tank heated. I do wish they sold them in multiple sizes, as some of my tanks are smaller than 30 gallons.

  • Great price on a good product

I use a lot of rooms for various kinds of reptiles, up to and including keeping one in my purse and plugging it into my car. Why shouldn't reptile owners be able to get in on the purse puppy movement?! At any rate, it's an affordable solution to a very big problem. The number one reason for reptiles to fail to thrive is because their habitat is not the correct temperature.

  • Works fine but beware

    By on

I bought this to supplement the heat in my 40 gallon terrarium over the colder months. What I didn’t realize is that this product is only meant for use with a glass enclosure. Upon receiving the product and getting ready to apply it to the side of my tank I read that it’s not for use with any other tank material but glass and I unfortunately have acrylic.

  • alternative use

    By on

I know it is for reptiles but we do have 2 pet lovebirds.Let's see if I can explain this. The bottom of the bird's cage is like the sides and top.setup. The cage also comes with a tray that catches paper and bits of food I place the heater on the tray but under the cage. Lovebirds don't poop where they sleep so we place the heater under the spot where they sleep offering more gentle warmth during the winter months. Works great and less expensive than the pet stores

  • Broke after three days

    By on

I just got this heater a few days ago. It was working fine, although it runs MUCH hotter than the listed temps. Mine was up to 120 degrees. Today, though, I unplugged it to switch some plugs around and the plugged it back in and it now won't kick back on anymore. Apparently unplugging it causes it to malfunction!?!

  • Best Heating Mat, Not Perfect

    By on

NOT INTENDED FOR A SOLO HEAT SOURCE. Although it helps provide reptile belly heat. Its not enough to heat the entire enclosure. Not recommended for cold rooms. Doesn't stick very well for very long. Requires a thermostat sold separately. Designed for glass terrariums only.

  • Reptile and general purpose heater

This flat surface heater can be used in different ways - I put it under the box our tortoise sleeps in with a probe thermometer. When powered by an adjustable voltage in a cool place, any desired temperature can be maintained.

  • Undertank heater

    By on

I have purchased reptitherm undertank heaters before for my leopard geckos who benefit greatly from them but I was very surprised at how fast the shipping was. I ordered on Thursday afternoon and it was at my door Saturday. Heater works great under a glass tank but I have found you always need a rheostat because without one, its just too hot and the geckos will not sit on it.
