Excellent product
By realmeows on Feb 24, 2022
Zoo Med Vita-Sand has a soft, silky texture which will not irritate my leopard gecko's skin. I like the pure yellow color of the sand. My gecko eats crickets. When the crickets poop, it's easy to see where they pooped. Their dark brown poop stands out in the yellow sand. Then the poop is easily removed. So-called natural calcium sand contains black and brown specks which can be mistaken for cricket poop. Zoo Med is a trusted brand. Their Vita-Sand is an excellent product which I will continue using.

Don’t use this sand. You could seriously hurt your leo or dragon.
By SoEK on Feb 26, 2022
Sand isn’t safe for leopard geckos and bearded dragons, this sand is no different. The information on the bag is incorrect. You would be better off using a dirt substrate, it’s much safer and has a much lower possibility of hurting your pets. If the sand is ingested weather on accident or not it could cause major digestive issues such as impaction. PLEASE don’t use this sand for your leopard geckos or bearded dragons.

Supers dusty
By Simple on Feb 4, 2022
This sand is really fine, super yellow and not efficient. Used it for the first time as and won’t reorder. My bearded dragon doesn’t like it. It holds moisture which isn’t needed with a desert animal. If super worms get loose they die fairly quickly in the sand compared to other ones. It gets tracked everywhere and doesn’t dry out quickly. I have to sift it daily to break up clumping. The dust residue I have to use soap to get it fully off. Just not a preference for my lizard.

50/50 good not great
By Chanp on Jan 21, 2022
The bag was leaking when it arrived, I had to clean up a big mess and will need to buy more sooner than I expected. However, the crickets and gecko like the sand. The product is great just not the condition I got it in.

Coloring Everything
By Jaszcurka on Nov 23, 2021
I gave it a try and regret it greatly. Not sure if that's the case with all substrates but this one colors everything it touches it. After a day with it my boardie had his paws and all underbelly in weird pinkish color that doesn't to come off. Not sure if that's neither natural nor healthy to any animal.

Loving my new sand
By Roxi on Dec 2, 2021
So so so happy I finally decided to use sand. And honestly my Roxi is old enough that it won’t be an issue. Plus she is picky enough that she only eats her salad out of her dish or from the hand

Not bad I liked it.
By Gabe on Jul 28, 2021
I am fourteen and I helped my mom and she decided to by stuff to help me get me bearded dragon. I needed substrate and I was a bit worried about impaction because this is my first pet/reptile I am buying myself. Then I just decided to just feed it be feeding tongs and hand feeding it so it wouldn’t get impaction. When I got it one of the bags was ripped in multiple spots and got sand in my other things I had ordered, that is the only reason I am giving it 4 stars otherwise I LOVE the color and texture. Hopefully Shogun my soon to be pet bearded dragon does too :) after I get the rest of the supplies.

Sand is too fine
By Evelyn on Aug 27, 2021
The sand substrate is so fine and soft, but it seems to have a filmy feel, and my Bearded dragon hated it! So needless to say I had to take it out. She would not even step on it after trying her on it once. oh well “live and learn” lol She wouldn’t even go on it to eat anything in her dish! Thanks
