  • Effective but a bit of a hassle

    By on

It says everywhere that it's safe for all dogs. It does not however say anywhere how much you can give to a dog less than ten pounds. My dog is an excitable Chihuahua, so the idea of something that would keep him calm sounds amazing. Breaking them apart is a hassle, and sometimes send a a piece flying if you aren't careful. I've given him 1/3 instead of an entire half. He's calm, but it doesn't make him sleepy, which I like. It works really well, and he loves them which is why despite the hassle, I still give it 4/5 stars.

  • These work well.

So.. my rescue pup is somewhat of a hot mess. I tried these in the peanut butter variety and she didn't like them, but I'd liked the effect they had on her. I didn't think I would reorder after the bag ran out, but after a week without them, I could tell how much more hyper vigilant and neurotic she was. She is not afraid of thunder or car rides, but was picked up as a stray around 2 years old and just has an odd variety of ptsd and stress that it is hard to manage. So, I decided to order the chicken ones, and to my surprise, she flipping likes these ones! I don't have to hide them in her food and make her mad, she will gobble them right out of my hand. :) What a treat to me! Grateful Zuke's So.. my rescue pup is somewhat of a hot mess. Grateful Zuke's has created these because they do help calm her down more than anything else. Don't expect to wow your dog with a "yummy" treat though, think of these more as an edible vitamin. If you just want tasty treats, there are plenty of those out there but these work as intended. Very well. 5 stars. … more

  • Great stuff!

We have three somewhat neurotic dogs, and Zuke's Calming Treats helps settle them down enormously. Although we've tried various so-called "calming" products, we find Zuke's works best and has the best value. We highly recommend this product!

  • tasty but not effective

i have a 19 month old vizsla/kommodor puppy. i was hoping it would help calm him down on the days i was unable to exercise him properly. well, i turned my back on him for a moment and unbeknownst to me he reached to the back of the kitchen counter to grab an almost full bag of the treats. he ran out the doggie door and promptly ate the whole bag. he is 85lbs, so fortunately there were no adverse effects what so ever. unfortunately, not even a whole bag slowed this mischievous dog down. i know herbs have a different effect on different individuals, so maybe that is what it was.

I have a coonhound that usually is hyper at night time. My dog is calmer now. I'll order again and she likes the flavor as well.

He gobbles them up. Do they calm him? Well, I like to think so )) Do they have an aphrodisiac effect? My other dog thinks so!

  • Mild stress/storm phobic dogs

    By on

I have three Goldens and use these treats for periodic situations. My youngest is storm phobic and is sensitive to stressful situations. These treats work very well for her. I wouldn't use them everyday because the dosing for her weight would become very expensive. I recommend them for my friends who have dogs with mild anxiety. I don't know how well they would work for high anxiety dogs - maybe as an adjunct with vet supervised stress management.

  • They worked, but my dog hates them.

    By on

I have to give credit to the fact that these really did seem to work. We live in a rural area and fireworks for the 4th of July last for a week out here. I gave these to my dog on some nights, and forgot twice. He was definitely noticeably calmer when he had eaten these treats. BUT he HATES them. I had to cut them into smaller pieces and bury them in soft dog food or cheese to get him to eat them. The smell really put him off. Ironically, I would use them again, even though it was a hassle to get him to eat them. I would rather fuss with that than have him stressing out all night from the fireworks.

  • Make more things possible for our fearful dog.

    By on

Our young dog has developed many fears. Using the calming treats, we are able to help her to learn confidence in fearful situations. Two of these treats given once a day work much better than the liquid drops we were using before. She is a happier girl.
