I hadn't used them before but they seem like a good product and I have a very small dog. Well, she throws up a lot when she gets them and they seem to make her nauseous by the foamy drool she gets when she has a couple. I stopped them and reintroduced them 4 times and it's the same result and so there's something in them that doesn't agree with her. Or me at this point after cleaning piles of vomit for a couple weeks. She has no food allergies and her own food is chicken based
We have a new rescue (right off the streets), Gracie, who is about one and a half yrs old, weighs 72 lbs and is "purebred" puppy! Zuke's MINI Naturals are a great training treat, Next stop - off to a trainer for the three of us. By the way and probably most of important of all, she loves them!
I don't know what it is about these training treats in particular. I've used a few other brands but Zuke's is the one that I can get my dogs to do anything. They love these and are willing to do what's asked of them for a Zuke treat.
The product itself is great, but from Chewy I've had issues. I've ordered these a few times from Chewy but the last two times they've come stale. I used these for train and most importantly to smush around meds that I give to my dog, and when they're stale it makes that impossible. So I've instead just been buying them from the store because they're always nice and soft from there. If I could trust they wouldn't be stale from Chewy I would resume ordering them from Chewy again.
Unlike many so-called "soft" treats, these actually stay soft. Super soft, in fact---think like a really gummy fruit snack. (Some dogs might not like this consistency.) This makes them easy to rip into even smaller pieces for tiny toy dogs. And Zuke's uses pretty healthy ingredients. My Yorkies, who adore chicken and typically aren't too picky about treats, will eat these. Now they won't slobber wildly or learn fancy new tricks for these. Mine don't LOVE them. But for routine potty runs, they're reward enough.
Since these are really soft and crumb free I use them all the time for leash training because my pup doesn’t need to stop to eat a crunchy treat allowing him to continue on walking.
I'm a professional dog trainer and recommend these treats to my clients. . Excellent size to deliver as reward. Not too chewy or crumbly. Dogs love the flavors these treats come in,
Starr is somewhat dog reactive on her leash walks. I use these treats for positive reinforcement and she loves them! She is on the chunky side, so these help in keeping her caloric intake down. She also whines, never barks, at the door when the Chewy box arrives!
We acquired an older small dog with only 3 teeth, and Zuke's Mini Naturals allow me to give her treats that she can handle.
My Chocolate Lab loves them, I'm sure she wishes they were bigger. the size is small but her interest in them is high so a great training tool.
