The product itself is great, but from Chewy I've had issues. I've ordered these a few times from Chewy but the last two times they've come stale. I used these for train and most importantly to smush around meds that I give to my dog, and when they're stale it makes that impossible. So I've instead just been buying them from the store because they're always nice and soft from there. If I could trust they wouldn't be stale from Chewy I would resume ordering them from Chewy again.
Unlike many so-called "soft" treats, these actually stay soft. Super soft, in fact---think like a really gummy fruit snack. (Some dogs might not like this consistency.) This makes them easy to rip into even smaller pieces for tiny toy dogs. And Zuke's uses pretty healthy ingredients. My Yorkies, who adore chicken and typically aren't too picky about treats, will eat these. Now they won't slobber wildly or learn fancy new tricks for these. Mine don't LOVE them. But for routine potty runs, they're reward enough.
Starr is somewhat dog reactive on her leash walks. I use these treats for positive reinforcement and she loves them! She is on the chunky side, so these help in keeping her caloric intake down. She also whines, never barks, at the door when the Chewy box arrives!
My yorkie loves these. I like that they are low calorie. They fit perfect into his Busy Buddy mushroom puzzle toy. My dog has had bad reactions (GI issues) to other treats in the past (IE the BarkBox ones). My dog is able to enjoy these without any issues later.
I have been using these for about a month as a training treat. My pup loves them and since they are low calorie, we can get through a lot of training.
I’m a dog trainer and I’ve been using Zukes for over 10 years. They’re soft & easy to break apart and reward quickly. I always have a few different flavors on hand, but chicken has been the favorite.
They are nicely moist, smell wonderfully and must taste great. Tasha is crazy about them. It is good that they are soft. I hold the treat between my fingers so she must just nibble on it. That way she can enjoy it more and little longer than just quickly swallow the whole piece at once.
Praline' loves these - tiny treats - she is a mini long hair chocolate Dachshund - it's a low-calorie reward for good behavior - healthier choice -
My two love them, crave them, really do what is asked of them to get one those tiny bits and don't get frilled up so keep wanting more!
The dogs love the taste, but the minis dry out very quickly -- within 30 minutes of being in a pocket or baggie. They turn hard as concrete and don't warm back up when held in the hand. I've had to find another type of small treat.
