So, when we got our little budgie a few years back, we tried other kinds of pellets and it was a no-go. It wasn’t until I tried Zupreem fruitblend for small birds that we had success. However, the pellets were a tad too big for him. So I crushed them. Yeah, a few weeks of that got old quickly. I think it was the vet who recommended the fruitblend for very small birds. It was perfect. He’s been eating it ever since. Now, I think some of the nutrients may differ a bit being this fruitblend is geared toward the smallest birds, and of course I believe it has some artificial flavors and/or colors, but our vet thought it would be just fine for a budgie and our little guy loves it.
My petshop bird wouldn't touch anything but seed. I bought the zupreem natural small and fruit blend. Both my birds love it. The petshop bird seems to prefer it to seeds.
My budgies won't eat the bigger versions meant for them so getting this was definitely a good decision. Package arrived intact so no complaints there overall a great product.
I've been trying to introduce pellets to my parakeet. He doesn't seem to even try the regular size, so I bought these to see if this may be more attractive to him. So far I'm not sure, it's mixed with the other food so I can't tell yet, but I think he may be eating some. They look very colorful
My cockatiels just don't like eating larger pellets. But, these little pellets are the size and shape of millet seeds, so my 'tiels gobble them up! I have used this type of pellet for years as part of my homemade bird food mix. And yes, my finches enjoy them as well!
I have a ringneck dove and this was recommended in my dove group. She loves this food so much she recognizes the bag when I get it out to fill her food dish and gets excited.
I have had zebra finches for the last several years and they have always loved this food! But I only recently started getting it from Chewy. I feel good about feeding them a pelleted diet that is nutritionally balanced, and that they can't pick out their favorite things to eat like with the seed blends. They eat all the colors in the container and they are so healthy! They eat this mostly, with seeds and fruits/veggies on the side. They are active, noisy, not over- or underweight, and have beautiful feathers. I don't feed them any other primary diet! I may try the Natural version, but that doesn't come in the same size pellets as this x-small variety. Not sure if the next size up would be too big for them!
My dove loves this along with a canary/finch seed mix that I feed him! :)
The product is great for your birds, but when it is shipped with a tear in it and arrives spilled, that does not make a happy experience. Their canary mix is clean compared to feed supply or some pet stores.
Does not smell as fruity, disappointing. Some birds are eating as usual, others ignoring
