Superb packaging with a great introductory price

Great Stuff Quick delivery with insulation, dividers, and dry ice Wallet loved the promotional price Can see some chunks of meat and pieces of vegetables in product My boy loved the food served straight and mixed with his standard kibble Peel open packages keep your scissors clean and transfer easily to storage containers Healthy digestion once adjusted Not so great Standard price for subscription is limiting to my budget. Larger quantities are a little cheaper, but take up 25% of my freezer Food appears to be ground beef texture in advertisements, but it is more like a puree with some chunks once thawed. This makes the food reform together in bowl. May not be an issue for longer snouts, but my boxer made a mess around the bowl and on his face. Think baby's first birthday cake! Introduce the food slowly, my boy is not usually sensitive but had a couple accidents and upset belly after the first few Smells like dog food-better than many but doesn't inspire "wow that's real food!" either. Overall, I am very pleased with this product and the buying experience. My boxer loved the food and wasn't quiet about this fact. Due to the consistency of the food and my dogs snout, I'll be using it as an additive/topper instead of a stand alone meal. The standard MSRP subscription price is the only significant barrier to me purchasing again, but Loaf might revolt once this shipment runs out...we shall see!

Thought she was allergic to Chicken! Senior Dog APPROVED

I have a 13y/o yorkie with a variety of health problems (allergies, frequent UTI's, and most recently pulmonary hypertension). We had thought she was allergic to poultry, so we were only feeding her salmon or fish formulas, but we never knew for sure. We had Harley on RX dry food for a while and tried a variety of toppers, mix-ins etc. to help with her allergies and make sure she was getting some extra yummies when it came to meal time. Her allergies never really seemed to fully get better. When I signed up for Get Real, I anticipated I would keep using it as a topper to mix in with her kibble, but as her allergies started clearing, she was becoming more 'regular'., and she was SO excited for meal-time, I decided to switch to Get Real full feed. AND, best part of all, her allergies totally cleared up even on the chicken & turkey recipes, which makes me think her allergies were mainly environmental, or from something else in her kibble. At 13 years old her allergies have never been better. Also, I love that the veggies are pretty much emulsified into the formula because Harley would typically pick out the protein bits and leave the fruits and veggies un-touched. Thankfully, she chows down on everything and is actually getting the fiber and extra vitamins from the brussel sprouts, cranberries, carrots, sweet potato etc. We recently had to have Harley hospitalized due to her pulmonary hypertension and the ONLY thing she would eat at the ER was her Get Real. That's when I knew I wasn't going back to kibble. #ChewyTeamRated

Everyone liked that

I tried the Get Real meal program for my dogs over the past month, and overall, I was really impressed. My dogs eagerly devoured every flavor we tried—Beef & Sweet Potato, Chicken & Brussels Sprouts, and Turkey & Cranberry—but the Beef & Sweet Potato was definitely the favorite. That one disappeared from the bowl the fastest every time. One thing to note: the Chicken & Brussels Sprouts had a bit of a strong smell, especially when first opened, but it didn’t seem to bother the dogs at all. If anything, they seemed to like it even more because of that. From a convenience standpoint, I found the program to be a great value. The portions are generous, and the meals work well either as a topper or on their own. I also appreciated that once thawed, the food stays fresh in the fridge for a few days—so I didn’t feel like I had to rush through it all at once. If you're considering this program, just know that having a decent amount of freezer space is helpful. The shipments come in bulk, and you'll want room to store it properly. All in all, it’s been a solid addition to our routine.

High-Quality, Digestion Friendly Food

Get Real fresh dog food is well-loved by my dog. She struggles with her weight and wants to eat all the time. The meals seem to be more filling to her than her usual kibble so she eats less. Her digestion has been great since starting this food regimen. The food looks like a meal that a human cooked up in their kitchen. Even the cats try to sneak a bite when it's mealtime! The only thing I would like to see improved is the packaging. It is easy to open, but a little hard to store if you do not feed the entire pack at one time. A more rigid container with a lid would be appreciated. Overall, I highly recommend this product.

My dog loves this fresh food

I've been looking for a "cleaner" dog food for my dog (with no chemicals, preservatives, etc) so I decided to try Get Real. It comes in three varieties and my dog loves them all. The food stays frozen and you thaw it out 1-2 days ahead of when it's time to serve. It does take up a good bit of space in the freezer. I wasn't sure about feeding him cold food, but he eats it all up. The ingredients appear to be made of fresh foods and my dog loves it. He seems to have more energy after eating this food. It is pricey so if I continue using it, I may break down the portions and serve with his dry food to make it last longer.

Hungry senior raves about delicious dindin

Buck says these 3 flavors are amazing, my mom mixes a bit in my chubby dog food which I’m not keen on. Mom says using 2 teaspoons on 2 of my daily dinners, so the 5oz packs for topping last 5 days of unbelievably delicious meals! Now chubby dog food is fantastic, no more protests from me (Buck)

Hands Down the BEST Food Ever for My Dogs!

I rarely take the time to write reviews, but I feel like I have to share how much I (and more importantly, my dogs!) LOVE Get Real. I have two very different pups—a feisty little chihuahua mix and a big, lovable pit mix—and finding a food that excites both of them has always been a challenge. But this? This is next-level amazing. First of all, the ingredients are wholesome and clearly high quality. You can tell at a glance (and a sniff!) that it’s real, healthy food, not overly processed mystery mush. It looks and smells fantastic—even I think it smells good, and that’s saying something for dog food. I feel so good knowing I’m giving my dogs something packed with clean, nutritious ingredients that are actually beneficial for them. The packaging is excellent—sturdy, easy to store, and it keeps everything sealed perfectly while in the freezer. Speaking of which, yes, it arrives frozen, which is another big plus because it keeps the food fresh without any weird preservatives. I just pop it straight into my freezer when it arrives. When I’m ready to use it, I move it into the fridge to defrost. It does take about 3 full days to thaw in the refrigerator, so plan ahead a bit—but it’s totally worth it. Pro Tip: Because it takes about 3 days to thaw in the fridge, I like to keep a “rotation” going—three packs defrosting in the fridge while the rest stays in the freezer. It makes meal prep seamless and ensures I’m never caught without a thawed portion. Now, let’s talk about the most important part: my dogs’ reaction. OH. MY. GOODNESS. They go absolutely bananas for this food. My chihuahua mix, who is admittedly pretty food-driven, circles like a shark and practically dances in circles as soon as he smells it. My pit mix is generally pretty chill about meals and sometimes ignores food all day. But with Get Real? She mows it down immediately, no grazing, no hesitation. I’ve never seen her clean a bowl so fast. When I put their bowls down, it’s like a race to see who can lick their bowl clean faster. What I also love is that even though it’s a “fresh/frozen” food, it doesn’t create a mess or have that unpleasant odor some dog foods do. It’s super easy to portion out, and I feel like I’m giving them something as close to a home-cooked meal as it gets. Since switching to Get Real, I’ve noticed they both seem more energetic, their coats are shinier, and even their digestion has improved. It feels amazing to know I’m feeding them something that makes them this happy and is genuinely good for them. If you’re on the fence—don’t hesitate. Yes, it is expensive (I currently mix it with their dry food because of this) and yes you’ll need freezer space and a bit of planning for thawing, but the payoff is huge. Your dogs will thank you a thousand times over with happy eyes, wagging tails, and clean bowls. Highly, HIGHLY recommend. Five stars aren’t enough!

She Gives It 10/10

We’re just getting started with this. My oldest is very picky when it comes to food, especially when it comes to vegetables, which I know are good for her but she mostly refuses them. That’s why we were a tad skeptical on this new food but she loves it!

Great frozen fresh food my dog loves.

This product is fresh and includes all natural ingredients: beef, sweet potatoes, carrots, beef liver, cranberries, brussels sprouts, and spinach. There are absolutely no other ingredients in this food that I am aware of. I also could not find nutritional information on the packing materials or calorie content. I believe this food is cooked but I could not find any information saying so. So that’s why this gets four stars instead of five because I believe product information is crucial. It also doesn’t contain added vitamins and mineral so, I personally would not feed it unless I was supplementing. I only used it as a mixer and did not switch out his current food. He did not have any digestive problems with the transition. The individual packets are really great and easy to thaw but are hard to open, you better make sure your hands are dry. As far as it being shipped frozen it is impeccably packed with a huge box of dry ice, this box it could’ve kept the stuff cold for a couple more days.

Your dogs will LOVE Get Real dog food!

My two dogs, Toaster and Strudel, are absolutely crazy for Get Real fresh dog food. I'm talking pitifully waiting by the refrigerator first thing in the morning, doing a montage of tricks (sit, circle, paw, down - over and over - it was adorable) as they waited for me to fix their food, and not only eating it all, but also pushing their bowls over to get every last piece. When I say they loved it, I mean they LOVED it. They are not and have never been food motivated. They are food motivated for Get Real. They've had zero tummy issues with it and have boundless energy on it. I love the ingredients - chicken, beef, sweet potato, kale, brussel sprouts - all healthy wholesome ingredients and NOTHING else. My husband said he would eat it based on the ingredients and smell. Honestly, the ingredient list wouldn't be out of place on a restaurant menu! The Get Real dog food came beautifully and carefully packaged. Everything was frozen solid and its 100 degrees here in Virginia in July. I put most of the dog food in the freezer and put some in the fridge to thaw. When i was ready to serve my pups a meal, it was easy to take out the pre-portioned amount and feed them. Easy to clean up, too, since they have made themselves part of the "clean plate club." All in all, this is fantastic food with the best ingredients I have ever seen for dogs. The subscription made it easy to put in your pet's activity level and weight and they do all the work to figure out what your dog needs to thrive. Simple to order food, simple to skip or change deliveries, change flavors, etc. We are Get Real household and Toaster and Strudel are Get Real's biggest fans!

Fresh with veggies you can see!

When we received the Get Real foods in the mail, it came frozen in a nicely packaged box with dry ice and it was ready to place in the freezer. The serving size on the packet was easy to read and understand. We chose to use this as a filler for our dog's current food. After putting a package in the refrigerator the day before, it was ready to go the next day as it had thawed quite well. We opened the package and it fell right into the bowl with ease. The food looked fresh and we could easily see the vegetables that were in it! Reece, our beautiful 8 year old black lab, could not get enough of this. She devoured it and we knew she was wanting more. We are thrilled with the ease of use, easy opening, and easy thawing. Reece most definitely approves!

Great Get Real Food for my Picky Eater

The product arrived quickly and was packaged very neatly—off to a great start! The presentation is top-notch, and the portions are just right for my 10-pound pup, Max. So far, he’s tried both the Beef and Turkey recipes, and I was thrilled to see him dive right in on the very first night. The consistency is excellent—moist, with real chunks of meat that are perfectly sized for smaller dogs like Max. He’s a notoriously picky eater, and I’m always looking for ways to keep him interested in his meals. A week in, and he’s still licking the bowl clean at every feeding! Get Real has truly made mealtime enjoyable again—for both of us. Highly recommend!

It's a must!

My French bulldogs usually just have kibble, but after a teeth cleaning they were treated with this soft food!! It is their absolute favorite. Now when offered a treat ,they go to their bowls hoping for more Get Real. I wish there were more options that have no poultry (my pups have allergies).

Moose loves it!

Moose has been loving this food! When it is put in his bowl he immediately eats and licks the bowl clean! Sometimes wet dog food has a really overwhelming and gross smell to humans, and thankfully that is NOT the case with this food at all. The packs the food comes in are easy to open. You store them in the freezer and they take about 2 days to thaw in the fridge before they can be given to your dog. Overall, very pleased with this food for Moose. (He's also tried the Chicken and Turkey flavors and enjoys those just as much!)

Perfect portions for picky pups

These fresh meal packets were a huge hit with my dogs! We tried these pre-measured fresh food recipes as part of the Pawsibilities program, and might not have tried them otherwise. My two pups absolutely gobbled up both the beef and sweet potato and chicken and brussel sprouts recipes. They do take a day or two to thaw, so I put a few in the fridge for the upcoming week to add to both dogs' dry kibble. Both dogs can be a bit particular with wet food and treats, but they gobbled this food right up.

The beef made my dog sick

I was feeding my dog a raw dog food. I would cook it before feeding. Kind of defeated the purpose and was getting annoying. Decided to try this. He likes the chicken and turkey. The beef made him throw up. held back the beef for a couple of days, reintroduced and he vomited again soon after the feeding. He does not have a beef issue. The raw food was beef. The other issue is it is hard to figure out the right feedings. No calorie counts, and discussing this with a rep he gave the to me but told me just go to my plan and it will be there. Either I am missing something or it is not there. Would be nice if they listed pack sizes and calories per pack so owners can make easier adjustments.

Excellent Shipping and Dog Approved

This product came shipped in excellent condition. I was very nervous with it being quite warm where we live and the packaging was excellent. Every package of food was still frozen and lots of dry ice at the top! My dog loved the food! It defrosted pretty quickly in the refrigerator and I love the the brick shapes make very easy storage in the freezer! Feels great to have such quality ingredients for my dog!

Very high quality food, excellent customer service and my pups love it!

We did extensive research of all options before selecting Get Real. Our pups, English Bulldogs, have been on it for several weeks now and doing very well. They had no tummy upset with the transition off kibble and they ADORE this food! Their internal clock on feeding time has always been good but now they also line up in front of me at meal time as an added reminder (thanks guys). Our vet told me they are both fat (ugh) and we decided a raw, non-processed diet would be the best way to address it. We looked into doing it ourselves (too much hassle) and at virtually all the other raw food options (felt like taking out a 2nd mortgage) and so we signed up for a regular subscription for both Turkey and Beef. I have to say from the smell they seem delicious (i'm unwilling to try) and our pups have confirmed their delight. The service experience has been equally awesome. I had so many questions before, during and after purchase and the chat feature on Chewy was terrific. I go prompt, thorough and helpful responses to each question. We are long time Chewy users and this experience has underscored our satisfaction. I'll check back in a few months for an update on Archie and Tomaso's progress with weight reduction. Finger's crossed!

One Of My New Favorite Foods

This is a great all around food. I'll start at the beginning. The food is frozen so it will be shipped overnight. They will make sure that it is a day you are available to receive it and put it into the freezer. I was notified when it shipped, was out for delivery with an estimated time then again when it was delivered. The shipping box is designed to hold a special recyclable insulating material to protect the temperature and integrity of the food while being responsible to the environment as well. It is also packed with dry ice. The dry ice is in bags in a separate box to prevent accidental contact by curious pups (or people). There was about 1/3 of the dry ice remaining and all the food was still frozen. The food itself is packed in portion-size plastic pouches with peel open tops. The label has a peel-back feature revealing additional, in depth info. My only complaint, and this is a big one, the tabs on the peel open top are so small and the seal so strong that it is very difficult to get a grip. If it is wet, forget it and I'm strong with a good grip. The food thaws in about 36 hours. The ingredient list is simple and nutritious. This food actually looks and smells like someone took their traditional turkey dinner plate and put it in the food processor. Seriously, it really smells yummy; not like dog food. My dogs liked it immediately and have tolerated it well with good energy and normal, regular poops. Since this food has a high moisture content, it will be easier for people to prevent the incidence of obesity due to overfeeding than with dry foods. The dogs get full with much fewer calories.

My dogs are O B S E S S E D

I think, if dogs could talk, the first thing my dogs could say is "why haven't you been feeding this to us before?". I have tried over fresh foods in the past with varying results, but I have never seen my dogs go this crazy for food like this. I have been using this food as a topper. With amount of food I received, my dogs will be able to enjoy this for a long time. Each container is a good size and stacks nicely when frozen. The packages open up nice and easy, but they aren't resealable so I have been putting them in large freezer bags to keep them freeze between uses. It's worked out nicely for us. Much to my surprise, the food doesn't smell half bad either. I have found some fresh foods can smell plain atrocious -- obviously appealing to their doggy audience -- but this stuff is actually appetizing. It makes me feel like I am feeding my dog real food when it smells like real food. Speaking of real food, you can see the nice chunks of real carrot, spinach, sweet potato, etc in the food! It doesn't get any more real and fresh than that. We give it four paws up!

Quinn & Ruby EAT Every Last Crumb!

No more dog food sitting in Quinn's bowls collecting Flies, and becoming an eyesore *0* Plus, My dogs were starting to become too thin and I was worried they might be lacking nutrition. ** I can smell the liver which is a great Organ Meat for both humans and dogs it's incredibly beneficial. I do have one problem with reordering because I am an environmentalist and there's too much packaging material l!! I'm not sure all of it can be recycled!!! Would be beneficial to Mother Earth if company Management took this into consideration and helped recycle the padding and plastic used. Our planet is suffering from too much garbage!!

My picky Iggy loves this

I've been working on adjusting my 5 year old male Italian Greyhound's diet. He is on the bigger side for his breed, and seemed to be overeating and putting on a little fluff over the winter. So we've switched him graudally over to this food, mixed with a 1/4 portion of Hills Science Diet for small breeds for added crunch and fiber, which is so similar to the human-grade portion sized packs of fresh food meals he grew up on in South Korea as a puppy. He gobbles this up instantly and has had good bowel movements, much less flatulance and burping, and seems already within 2 two weeks and an extra 15-30 minute walk here and there to be much more energetic and less bloated. The packs are easy to scoop out of, although a little messy so I have a designated spatula. It even warms up a little bit well without an awful smell, for those out there with picky pooches who like their food "cooked"~ Definitely going to keep getting this for a while and see how we fare long term.

An absolute hit

Both of my dogs go absolutely WILD for the turkey & cranberry. I use it as a meal topper and they become very impatient but also very excited when they see me head toward the fridge because they know what they’re about to get. Once they’re done eating, they trade bowls just to make sure the other one didn’t leave any leftovers. I move them from the freezer to the fridge at night for the next day and they thaw in time for breakfast!

Wow, So good!

Excellent ingredients, and my dog LOVES the taste! I started out just giving a couple spoonfuls to avoid any gastrointestinal distress and had no issues. I mix it in with his dry kibble and it adds moisture and flavor. The packages are easy to thaw and open. Also good for hiding meds. This food would be ideal for a small dog, but for my 50-lb dog I plan to mix it with his kibble just due to the cost of feeding 100% fresh food.

My dogs loved this!

Although it doesn't look too appealing to me, the texture is like baby food, my dogs love these! I mix it with their dry food and their bowls are always licked clean. Which never happens. I split a pouch between my two dogs, which is very convenient. The pouches do not take up very much space in your fridge or freezer either. Which has been a problem with other fresh or frozen dog foods.

My dog LOVES this

We purchased this as a topper for my dogs prescription food. He LOVES it - he used to pick at his kibble throughout the day, now he gobbles it up as soon as the bowl is put down. The shipping is great (clear communication when it’s coming/has arrived), packaging is easy to use, Autoship makes ordering convenient, and product overall is great value.

Simple ordering, great product for fresh feeding!

Super easy and affordable way to feed your dog fresh food. We selected chicken, beef and turkey since my dog can eat all those proteins. Happy that he easily digested them all with no issues! We are using Get Real as a kibble topper and kong filler, so he eats at least three portioned packs per day. Shipped fast, stores nicely, defrosts in less than a day in fridge for easy feeding.
