Is aquaclear powerhead 70 and aquaclear filter 70 filter impeler the same?

The Power Head is the mechanism that makes the impeller move.
Does this include the ceramic rod that goes through the middle?

The AquaClear 150 is now the AquaClear 30 Power Filter. The AquaClear Impeller Size 30 is recommended.

Buyer beware!

This is a great product. But it may not be the one you were hoping to purchase! Shame on AquaClear for using the exact same numbering for its filters and its powerheads, and for replacement impellers that look all too similar in photos. This series of impellers is only for their canister filter, not for their powerheads. Chewy is great about your returning them, though I did not do it this time since it was the second time I have ordered the wrong thing. As my father used to say, "If a dog bites you once, it's his fault." For your information, Chewy does not even sell the powerhead replacement impellers. But they could make this a bit more clear!

Spares for my Aquaclear 70 filter.

I got these as spares for my Aquaclear 70 HOB filter and have not used them yet. It fits on the shaft as my existing one does and visibly looks the same but for one exception and that's the bottom base under the magnet in the picture. With my original the bottom magnet lip is pronounced and sticks out (see top of picture) but the new ones I got are flush with the magnet and barely stick out but they fall into place perfectly as the originals do or so it seems. I am hoping this is an improvement and it works just as good as the original when used so time will tell. I give it one less star just for that doubt. These better work as I got three for spares and time will tell.

AguaClear Impeller replacement not recommended

I ordered this as a replacement for the impeller that is in my current aqua clear filter as the unit was operating at a louder then normal noise level. I have had the unit for a number of years. The impeller that I received to replace the current unit was much louder that the original item. I used vaseline on the old unit to quiet it down, I would not recommend buying this part as a replacement, it did not resolve the noise issue with the unit.

still noisy!!

Usually buying a new one of these every so often will stop the annoying rattle. Unfortunately my new parts came and my filter is still just as loud if not worse! Total waste of $

Works! No More Noise!!

So every once in a while these magnets get scuffed up and start making the filter sound noisy or sometimes even stop spinning. This is usually the fix for that. Works perfectly and my filter is quiet once again. Might be a good idea to have one on hand. I dealt with the noise for a week before I bought one.

Not a match

The power head for an Aqua 50 is a 420. When entering the information it give you the wrong item. A total waste of time and money.

Good replacement part

I gave this 5 stars both because it is a good part, and because it has a 1 star review just because someone ordered the wrong part. This replacement impeller is built even better than the original, with reinforcement around the plastic screw at the top which the original one did not have. I purchased this along with the metal rod, but as it turns out, the rod was just worn in the middle and the impeller was fine. But that just shows how good this part is, and now I have a replacement just in case. Fish won't live long without filtration, so having an extra one around puts my mind at ease.
