Beurer Heated Dog & Cat Blanket, Gray

I purchased this heated blanket for my 16 yr old senior cat that has her belly shaved due to ultrasounds she needs constantly done but the missing belly fur makes her cold all the time so I hoped this blanket would be the solution for her. The blanket has wiring running through all of it which you feel. I started it on WARM and thought it would be good. She liked that. I turned it up to LOW which I thought she would like on one of the coldest days we had but she immediately got out of it as though she was too hot and laid down on the marble coffee table which was weird. It seemed to be too hot. I decided maybe warm would be the only setting that would work, this has warm, low, medium and high. After the 3rd try, warm was not warming up at all anymore. Now LOW seemed to be what WARM was. I'm not sure this blanket was functioning properly but also what was concerning is how sensitive the button is to increase the temperature. The cable sits oddly near by and bumping into it even slightly will push the temperature button up to the next degree. We learned the hard way when we realized it was on Medium because it pushed against the sofa cushion. The cat seems to be scared of the blanket. The instructions from the brand also say it's for people not pets. I think this is misleadingly sold and maybe not for pets at all. We do have 2 of the K&H thermo kitty deluxe heated beds which the cat does use and after taking that apart to compare it's heating device pad, it definitely does not feel as hot at what the LOW or MEDIUM of this blanket feels which is concerning.
