HandicappedPets was founded in 2001 by Mark C. Robinson to honor his dog Mercedes, a lovable Keeshond who suffered from epilepsy and struggled with mobility issues. Since then, they have been on a compassionate mission to provide injured, lame, and disabled dogs and cats with ways to get moving again, so they can live happy, playful lives with their loving pet parents. Striving to change lives with every product, they offer wheelchairs designed specifically to help dogs run, play, go to the bathroom comfortably, get the exercise they need, and enjoy fun activities with their human friends. Their wheelchairs are perfect for pups with hip and leg problems including degenerative myelopathy (DM), hip dysplasia, arthritis, paralysis, slipped discs, amputees, soreness, spinal and neurological problems, surgical recovery, and more. Plus, they help enrich the lives of disabled cats and dogs by making their daily activities easier, stress-free, and with less pain and discomfort, thanks to their drag bags, slings, and support harnesses. To help foster a community of families, friends, and guardians of elderly, disabled or injured animals, they also provide articles, links, personal stories, photos, a popular message board, as well as classifieds to help connect pet owners all over.
