I have a tough chewer who has destroyed ropes quickly. Are there any modifications someone, or the manufacturer, has done once the rope is gone?
Answer by 3pups • Jul 30, 2024
I just go to hardware store and replace the rope .
I have had this toy for several weeks now. I use it to feed my dog her meals a few times per week. It has started smell terrible, I imagine because I can't really get the rope clean. Do you have any recommendations for cleaning?
Answer by • Jul 10, 2020
Use a natural laundry detergent or simply sprinkle the toy with baking soda and add a few capfuls of white vinegar. You can soak it in this mixture to help with the smell and then wash it off.
How do I get a replacement rope???

The manufacturer does not offer replacement ropes for this item.
How do I teach my dog to use this? She can't figure it out and gives up after a while. She looks sad.

For interactive play with your dog, it's recommended to let them figure out how to get the treats/food out. If you would like you can show your dog that tipping it over will dispense treats.

Like many of the other reviews state, this toy doesn’t seem built to last. My dog loved it, but chewed through the rope within the first two days, and then started chewing bits of the rubber top off. With the rope chewed in half, it was impossible to get treats to come out, so we had to toss it.

Not All That "Tough"
My 20 lb heavy chewer really loves this bottle toy. It's a great design. The first time I put kibble in it, she had a blast tossing it about on the kitchen floor
My 20 lb heavy chewer really loves this bottle toy. It's a great design. The first time I put kibble in it, she had a blast tossing it about on the kitchen floor. But now she's a pro at getting out treats.
I took one star off because she shredded the rope on the second day and it only took her another day to completely shred and remove the rubber chew thing at the top of the bottle neck. So, now it's just a plastic bottle. But if your dog is not as aggressive at chewing, I highly recommend this product.

Although this toy is great and my dog loves it, it is incredibly loud against the floor. We have hard floors and live on the second floor of an apartment building, making this toy not suitable for everyday use. It’s a hard puzzle and my dog loves it, however after two uses the inside smells rancid from the dog food dust coating the rope. Great concept, but seems hard to keep clean.

We fill it with her morning meal of Kibble. She has to work to get it out. We used to have a bigger one that I like better. A neighbor dog chewed off the rope and we couldn't find an adequate replacement. Don't overfill or the rope can't move to release the treats.

Not very tough
My dog did love this toy initially & it did offer entertainment. But he chewed the rope off. So now it is just a bottle full of treats. He still chews on the rubber

The jar is huge! Not sure this is a good toy for Mable.
Mable is Al way up for a challenge but I worry she could hurt herself because she gets excited and a little careless.

Hard to use
Tank is a big boy, 80 lb GSD but found this toy hard to use. The treats don't come out without some human intervention. The toy is a large, hard plastic bottle
Tank is a big boy, 80 lb GSD but found this toy hard to use. The treats don't come out without some human intervention. The toy is a large, hard plastic bottle. The best he could do is hold the rope and swing it around making it a dangerous weapon for any shin bones nearby. Currently sits in his toy box, unused and not doggo approved.

My 110 lb Chocolate Lab loves his “work toy”
It engages him while rewarding him. I generally put 1/4 c of kibble in it.

Love That Didn’t Last

Three puppies (a 9 month old GSD, a 8 month old Australian Shepherd and a 7 month old poodle) destroyed the rope in six minutes. The rope is not meant for aggressive chewing. They enjoyed learning how to use it though. Perhaps if the rope was the strong nylon rope that’s used for equestrian activities it would have lasted.

My dogs hated it
I’m not sure if it was just the noise the bottle makes when it hits against the hardwoods but my dogs absolutely hate this toy. I don’t blame them. It’s hard plastic
I’m not sure if it was just the noise the bottle makes when it hits against the hardwoods but my dogs absolutely hate this toy. I don’t blame them. It’s hard plastic that hurts when they throw it around to get the treats out, which is remarkably difficult.
