How many pounds of hydrated food will this make?
Answer by ChewyJan 08, 2020
There are 20 cups of food in the 4.41-pound bag, 50 cups in the 11.02-pound bag, and 100 cups in the 22.05-pound bag.

Can you rehydrate this food overnight in fridge.? Or should you rehydrate just before feeding and how long do you let it sit in the liquid before serving?
Answer by ChewyOct 13, 2020
This food can be rehydrated or fed as is to your dog. To transform the kibbles into a moist and tender meal, simply rehydrate the kibbles with hot or lukewarm water for 15 minutes before mealtime. You can even add a spoonful of yogurt, kefir or home made fruit puree for even more flavors.

Is there any risk of Trichinosis from raw pork ?
Answer by ChewySep 23, 2022
CaniSource's dehydration process, it successfully eliminates all traces of pathogenic bacteria that may be present in raw meats including Salmonella, E. Coli and several other bacteria.

How much water should you add to 1 cup Grand Cru to make it moist?
Answer by ChewyMar 01, 2021
It all depends on what kind of texture you want the kibble to be. If you want to make a paste with the kibbles, so we recommend that you grind them in a blender and then add water until a paste is obtained. If you only want to soften the kibble, we recommend pouring in a little lukewarm water and stirring everything. For the quantity, often it is to go with the eye and then to see if all the kibbles are humidified. Rehydrated food can be kept for 24 hours in the refrigerator and always keep a bowl of fresh water available for the pet.

Good stuff

I tasted it. Pretty bland but clean. I moisten it before feeding it to our dog. He is enjoying it. It is hard to feed only the suggested amount. This food is from Canada.

Convenient alternative to raw grinds

This is a great base or substitute for raw grinds. All my dogs love it. My only complaint is the amount of it that ends up being crumbs. In 15 kgs of the food I have almost .5 kgs of unfeedable dust.

bugs and worms

The product is fine and my dog loves it, however, the loose cardboard box and the thin plastic bag allow bugs and worms to grow from inside. I had to throw the whole pack away while it still got more than 3/4 left, such a waste.

New raw dehydrated food search

My dog loved this food but even though I introduced it slowly into his diet, he had very watery stools. I would still say to try it. The reaction could be just my dog

Good food for picky eaters

The negative reviews I see here are strange. Just because it's dehydrated doesn't mean you add water and it turns into soft dog food. This is a kibble. Get a different t kind of you want soft food. Sometimes if the dregs are all broken up I'll add water and mix it but it's primarily a kibble. My dog is very picky about food and she likes it. Sometime I will add a little coconut oil to it but she likes it.

New household favorite

My two dogs were eating Pro Plan before I ventured out on this journey to explore human grade food. I have a senior mixed breed rescue that is about 57lbs and a young Brussels Griffon (he will be 2 in December) who is 7 lbs. I don’t have anything bad to say about Pro Plan, I think it’s a decent dog food, but after about a year on it, my babies started burning my lawn with their pee. I did some research online and found that sometimes changing their food can solve the problem. So I began my human grade food search. My first stop was making their food myself. I found a blogger with vet approved dog food recipes and I gave it a go. It worked out great and they loved it, but with my busy schedule and inflation, I soon realized that I could not keep up with their needs being the food maker. So then I turned to honest kitchen bc I already like the brand. Unfortunately my little BG wanted nothing to do with HK. He’s the picky eater out of the 2 and if I am going to pay for human grade food, I need both of them to like it. So then I found Canisource. I never heard of the brand but I did a little digging and decided to give it a try. At first, I did not realize you should REHYDRATE THIS FOOD WITH HOT WATER!!!!! The dogs were okay with it not rehydrated, but I was having to crush it up for the little one so he could eat it. Eventually it seemed they were less interested in it so I came back to Chewy to start reading the reviews. Once I realized a lot of people had success with the hot water rehydration method, I gave it a shot and it changed everything!!! They LOVE the food now and I don’t even have to break it up for the little one! I just measured out their amounts, added hot water, let sit for 10-15 minutes, and I came back to tender pieces of human grade dog food. They loved it so much they begged for seconds! If anything changes I will update my review, but as of now, Canisource + Hot Water Rehydration gets 5 Stars from me.

Perfect for Large or Small Breed

I bought this in place of RAW food to go camping. The dogs couldn't get enough. Even my picky Yorkies were munching on the tasty tidbits of food. Highly nutritious and excellent source of dehydrated food for any size dog. Can use wet or dry, or even to treat your pets with a little something special. Would buy again.

Dog loves it but it upsets her stomach

My dog is a picky eater and she loves this food, especially when I poor warm water on it! However, she has had the worst case of diarrhea since transitioning over to this food. Vet ruled out parasites and other ailments. So it must be something in it irritates her tummy. So if your dog has a sensitive stomach you may want to look elsewhere.

No more allergies!

We have dealt with skin allergies since he was a pup, less than a month on this they have disappeared no more expensive allergy pill every day! He loves the taste too. I mix half his portion with warm water makes a gravy and his other 1/2 add in right before I give it to him.
