Clear Air Pumpkin Spice Neutralizing Gel Beads, 12-fl oz jar

I ordered this out of hopes that it would help with the smell of the litter box. At the time, the litter box was positioned under my sink. I tried placing the gel beads container on the sink, under the sink, by the doorway, I even dumped some beads into the trash that the litter goes in, but to no avail. The smell of the beads is absolutely lovely! But, the strength of that smell is incredibly lacking, with or without a smelly litter box present. The scent simply doesn't fill the room. I could only catch a small whiff as I washed my hands or walked by the shelf (when I had moved it there later). Not to mention that, if it did neutralize any odors, it was barely if at all noticeable. The litter still overpowered the room. The candles from this same company have good ratings, so I imagine that they work well. Of course, I didn't want a candle because I cannot keep it burning all the time, nor do I feel comfortable having a lit candle where my cats might knock it over, which is why I was really hoping these beads would take up the job instead. Sadly, it would seem there is no good alternative to a candle. Perhaps this product was never intended to battle litter smell and is more useful for, for example, your dog's bedroom? I do not know whether or not it would work in that scenario. Another thing to note, the beads shrink overtime until the liquid is gone and the scent is practically nonexistent. The beads last a decent amount of time before they'd need replaced.
