What is the spf?

The FDA does not regulate sunscreen for dogs so there is no SPF assigned to it. However, it is similar in formula to products with an SPF of 30.

Is octinoxate natural?

The Octinoxate is not natural. It is a chemical ingredient in sunscreens that absorbs ultraviolet radiation in the UVB range and protects skin from sunburns.

Does this product need to be washed off after each use?

It Works!

Our dog has a white/pink nose and our vet said we needed to cover it from the sun or he could get skin cancer. So we have used this now for years everytime Toby

Our dog has a white/pink nose and our vet said we needed to cover it from the sun or he could get skin cancer. So we have used this now for years everytime Toby goes outside. He gets a little treat afterward which has now been his motivation to let us apply it. He doesn't like it sprayed on him so we squirt it in the palm of our hands.

Sun protection

This seemed to work great all summer for my pit mix. The bottle was a big problem though. While attempting to spray the nozzle would disconnect from the bottle

This seemed to work great all summer for my pit mix. The bottle was a big problem though. While attempting to spray the nozzle would disconnect from the bottle. No amount of tightening would help. The threads on the bottle are too thick for the sprayer part. The first time it happened I dropped the bottle and lost a lot of the sunscreen. It definitely needs to be rethought. The sunscreen itself is great.

It works!

We went on four, all day kayaking trips. I pit the sunscreen on Layla's face, nose and ears. No sunburn. I sprayed it on my hands and then rubbed it on.

Didn't work for my pup

I purchased this spray-on sunscreen and a rub in sunscreen from a different vendor for my white pittie's pink ears. She didn't like the sound of the spray and cringed

I purchased this spray-on sunscreen and a rub in sunscreen from a different vendor for my white pittie's pink ears. She didn't like the sound of the spray and cringed when I sprayed it despite the treats. She is way more tolerant of the competitor's rub in spray. I also found the spray nozzle to be inconsistent in spraying as other reviewers have noted. I donated to my local shelter.
