This cooling “shirt” has the perfect summer colors and design. It does run a little large compared to other similar items we have from Chewy. Our dog is a terrier mix, around 15 pounds and is typically a medium as he has a bigger chest. This medium is definitely on the larger side and we could have sized down to a small for sure. It’s not quite summer here in Chicago so we haven’t tested it out at the beach yet but we’re hoping it keeps our dark furred dog cool all summer! The material seems a little cheaper than expected, but that might be due to the “cooling” aspect.

I had purchased this one and the teal one for my Boston Terrier, who is a service dog in training. The coolness only lasted for about 5 minutes if that before it just trapped the heat closer to her body, which is not good for a bradycephalic breed. She almost had a heatstroke with this on!

Not what we expected

I thought this would be more like a cooling towel and it is not even close. The sun shirt is really thick quilted type material. I understand it's to hold the water

I understand it's to hold the water but man I think this is more of a warming shirt to hold body heat in than cool off the dog. Not very adjustable. We purchased both blue and the orange one for 2 black dogs and unfortunately won't be using them.

I have a very fluffy mixed breed dog, and even though he’s 45 pounds and classifies as a medium, we always buy him the sizes large and extra large because he has a huge neck of fluff. We got the extra large size for him and it’s the perfect fit. Not too long or too small for his neck. We live in the hot desert, so taking him outside during the day is a definite no. However, because we also live in the city it can be scary taking him out at dark. I got this vest to use in the early morning hours when the temperatures are still in the eighty degrees in the summer. This will surely help keep him cool when we can’t avoid the heat, even when we can avoid the sun. I was worried about it being a thick material and too hot all on its own, but it is really thin. It feels like a sports shirt material, very silky and lightweight. With water it can get nice and cool. I recommend wetting it with cold water and taking out the excess, and then putting it on the baby. Make sure to not let it get too lukewarm after wetting so the babies don’t get humid hot. It lasts for at least 30 minutes at a time for a quick walk.

I love these kinds of products. I own a black dog and live in the very hot south. A product that will keep my dog more comfortable is a must. I bought a similar product a few years ago that was more like a onesie and it does seem to help in the summer to keep my dog cool, or when we would go out running. I gave this a 4 star as it is a bit big but I think the smaller size may be too small. But this has a Velcro chest and is easier to put on instead of a onesie type. It’s not hot enough yet to see how well this product works in the heat but I’m sure it will help!

I'm quite excited because I'm hoping that this will keep my dog cool and comfortable.. He has allergies and I have been trying everything to help him. This should really help him as the material is light and airy. Since We have no A/C, and live in Florida, this will keep him covered and cool. It is really light weight, easy to put on, and nice and bright and colorful. I can't wait to take him for his next walk and show off his new Frisco Hazy Sunrise UPF 45 cooling vest.

We tried this for our ancient Beagle girl. For when she spends time in the yard in our Tx summer heat. The cooling properties are yet to be determined as it isn’t hot here yet, but the fit and style were a hit. She often refuses to move when wearing sweaters, in this she was her normal bubbly self. Honestly it looks so cute I don’t even know if I care about the cooling aspect, but we’ll update on that when we can! VERY easy to put on, and lightweight for her.

It’s a little small in my dog around the waist and big around the shoulders, however my dog is oddly proportioned so that may just be her. I also love the color!
