When switching your dog's diet, we recommend that it should be done gradually over 5-7 days, increasing the amount each day with the present diet as sudden change in diet may result in digestive disturbances.
Two years ago our 6 year old dog developed food allergies. Because her test showed her to be reactive to every animal protein source, the vet recommended she be on a diet that included no animal protein. Well the poor dog was also allergic to beets and several other veggies common in vegetable based dog foods. After scouring the internet for months, we came across this pork based food. While her testing indicates a moderate reaction to pork, this is the least reactive of all the animal proteins tested and contained none of the vegetables she reacted to. We took a chance on this food and stuck with it for 2 months. Now, our beloved pet (and us) can sleep through the night with no scratching. I wouldn't say she loves this food, but she does not refuse to eat it either. This food has worked very well for us. For those who have dogs with allergies, dont give up. This may not be the solution for your dog, but there is likely another food that is.
My dogs love this kibble! The first 5 ingredients are quality meat and grains. The company that makes this product, Pet Global, is also excellent and has a high standard for their products.
I bought this after many different foods. My dog was struggling with poultry allergies and I just wasn’t a fine of Purina Pro Plan SSS. I was so excited to find something with minimal but good ingredients and friendly to my wallet. I gave 3 stars only because in just over a month of finding this, the price has increased nearly $20 and is now the same price as all the other foods I’ve tried but with more food. Outside of that annoying price increase, the food has been good for my dog. After almost a year, he finally has good poop!!!
My 1 year old goldendoodle has severe food (protein) allergies. Every food trial has failed until now. I held out hope after reading reviews on this food. So far life is GREAT for my doodle on this diet!! I've now also transitioned my 11 year old doodle to this food (she has a sensitive stomach) and it agrees with her too.
My dog has never been picky but she won’t eat this
This food is awesome! It's the first kibble that my picky GSD mix will eat with no food topping or added wet food. I used to brag I could leave her kibble bag open on the ground and she wouldn't eat it, but now I need to make sure to hide her kibble away. Thank you for making a pork kibble that also has grains. I don't want to give her grain-free food and it's so hard to find things that work for her with her many food allergies. 11/10, we love it!
This food works great for my senior dogs and my young dog!
My dog wouldn't touch this kibble. I've reached out to Chewy several days ago regarding a refund and haven't gotten a response back
Seems like a good quality food, but it turns out that my girl is allergic to flaxseed(among several other things!!) and I was unaware of this at the time of purchase. I had to stop feeding her this food, so my opinion is based on a short time span. She ate it up and had no other issues with it other than the flaxseed. I’m telling you, it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to find any kibble that is void of her allergens...
I was happy to find this brand of minimum but high quality ingredient pet food. I was feeding him Instinct Freeze-dried Rabbit Coated, but switched because it is so expensive. I am forced to buy their 20lb bag (there is no bag size between their 4 lb and 20lb bags). But this was the sweet spot for premium dog food. Right sized bag, right sized price. However, that is not what my dog thought. Oh, he LOVED the food (he's greedy). But his allergies did not like it. I could not figure out why his glistening coat was not glistening so much, why he was shedding so much, why he was scratching so much, and developing thin and bald patches. So, I got him a natural allergy supplement (his allergies had gotten awful by this point). He got violently sick - vomiting and diarrhea, the whole works. I figured it was the allergy supplement. After feeding him a bland diet for a couple of days and seeing his poo return to normal, I fed him this again. I immediately noticed his stool was trying to get soft again. That's when I realized it might be this food. I had been feeding the poor boy this for a whole month before his system finally had enough. I put him back on Instinct. Within just a few days, his fur was glistening again and he'd stopped shedding. Please be aware, sometimes your dog's reaction to a food may be very subtle at first.
