Is this safe to use in a barn around hay?

Is this a pressure activated heating pad?

None of the K&H heated pads or beds are pressure activated. Once they are plugged in they are running. They all have self regulating thermostats to maintain a consistent heat of 102. The pad are high efficiency and cost pennies a day to run 24/7.

How long is the cord?

Does the warmer fit under the mattress securely? Is all electrical covered so the cat won't be interested?

The heating pad is securely placed and electrical is covered so the pet cannot get them. However, the cord would be visible from the end of the pad to the wall outlet.

My 10-year-old cat's new favorite

This is my cat's first heated bed or cave of any kind. For the price, it's incredible. She spends all day in there. We live in upstate NY and need all the warmth

This is my cat's first heated bed or cave of any kind. For the price, it's incredible. She spends all day in there. We live in upstate NY and need all the warmth we can get this winter. She has loved caves for years but now that she's older and the climate has gotten colder, this heated cave has been a game changer. We like the zippered back wall too, it adds functionality and flexibility that we need. I don't think the pom is very useful but we can just cut that off. We put the cave on top of a K&H window perch so she's all K&H'ed out.

My 10lb senior cat LOVES the thermo-pet cave heated bed. It's not just the heat pad that keeps her warm, the interior is relatively insulated, and if I stick my hand inside while she's inside, the air is easily 10 degrees warmer than outside the bed. She's enclosed and still has room to spread a little too. She previously used the thermo-kitty bed small size, but it didn't give her room to stretch out at all and her top half was still chilly, I put this on our couch so our cat can enjoy her own little safe warm snuggly spot with us, and it works great! She has left a warm sunny window spot to come hang out in this cave, so you know its good.

The kitties like this bed but won't stay in it for long, which makes me wonder if the thin layer of lining between the heating pad and the cat is too thin to be comfortable and may get too warm. Our other K&H beds have more padding or at least a layer of foam between the cat and the bed. I'll be going to find some foam that will be safe to add, but this feels like K&H was cutting some corners for a bed that retails full price at $90! Glad I got it on sale.

I have several senior cats who were constantly fighting over a KH heating pad in a cat tree box, so I bought this bed as a second option. It fits perfectly on the cat tree and provides a warm, cozy, enclosed space they love. Buying the house and warmer together was cheaper than purchasing them separately, and I appreciate that it can be taken apart for easy cleaning. The warmer cord feeds neatly through the back, making setup simple. There is plenty of room for my cats, who range from 9-15 pounds. While the heating pad is smaller than a larger KH pad I own, the enclosed space stays more than warm enough indoors. I did remove the hanging toy since it blocked the window view, though one cat enjoyed carrying the ball around. Two minor drawbacks: the bottom is not very padded. I added a small kennel pad under the pet cave, and the soft shell can collapse if another cat jumps on top. Tucking it under the cat tree shelf solved that issue. KH products have consistently held up well for me, both indoors and outdoors. I purchased this on sale, but even at full price it is a solid investment.

VERY happy with this item. My kitty is usually weird about beds and either uses them a couple of times or not at all. He’s used this almost daily since I got it!

VERY happy with this item. My kitty is usually weird about beds and either uses them a couple of times or not at all. He’s used this almost daily since I got it! Even if I don’t plug it in, he still stays warm and cozy inside. Heating pad doesn’t get super warm, but it does seem to get warmer when compounded with his body heat. It’d be nice to have an auto-off switch, but I still love it.

Our son, Frankie, loves to cuddle and especially loves to sleep with my hubby every night. Lately, Frankie has been waking up my husband a little too much.. We decided to surprise our little boy with a big cave/home of his own to snuggle, cuddle, hide in and especially hide his little toys from his baby sister kittens. Frankie loves his big cave/home.. We plug his house into the wall and he will go right to sleep once his daddy leaves for work(I'm a stay at home mom so I can monitor Frankie while he is asleep with his house plugged in). Frankie will sleep in his house for hours, as long as he isn't distracted by his little sister kittens, who always look for him. It's a great house for Frankie to relax. We put a small blanket inside for him to cuddle on because it only has a soft, fluffy floor. It's a great buy for your fur-baby. We bought it on Cyber Monday for Our boy and he definitely loves it.

I have a K&H heating pad for my pet, but I was concerned whether or not my pet was getting adequate heat during very cold nights . However, the "cave" enclosure of this bed has proven to keep my pet warmer during this cold winter! My heart just melts, when I see my pet all cozy, warm and very content!

My bunny is obsessed with this. Been using it for about a week and no problems so far. Heating pad comes out of the bed so you can wash as needed. I’ve been mostly remembering to unplug it when not in use, but have occasionally forgotten and nothing bad has happened. I cut the ball out so my bunny wouldn’t chew on it.
