What size should I get for a golden retriever?
Answer by ChewyJan 13, 2018
Because there can be a range of size in the breed, if you feel that the dog is on the smaller size the Large, that is 14 inches would be recommended. If you feel you pup is on the larger side you could go with the X-Large which is 17 inches long.

Perfect Pool Toy

Our dogs (and we) love the Kong Wubba Wet! They are perfect for our dogs to fetch in the pool. We bought two because our golden retrievers are always fighting over the pool toys. Now each of them can have their own. These float perfectly and are colorful so they're easy to see in the water.

Tough Chewer

My dog is a tough chewer and destroyed this in 15 minutes, including the balls inside. Wouldn't recommend if you also have a tough chewer!

Seeing Kong and a water toy, I was happy to find this for our swimming retriever but within 10 minutes, the dog got it out of the water and tore it up. In their defense, the instructions did say not for hard chewers, but this toy was not up to any chewing what so ever and especially not a large dog. Our dog was playing with it like other water toys, not having a chew session.

Great water toy

This toy is solely reserved for water use. It was thrown approximately 6,348 times this week while on vacation in Northern lower Michigan for my dock diving gentle mouthed golden. I like that she can grab it by the lengths of fabric instead of by the ball and swim with it with her mouth shut, limiting water intake.

Destroyed in 5 Minutes

Sadly, my lab destroyed this in 5 minutes - we had to throw it away. He chewed off the fabric down and the tennis ball part was exposed. Do not recommend for any sort of chewer.

Great water toy

Great long lasting for our extreme chewer. Only gave 4 stars as there was no color choice and we received a yellow one & it gets dirty way too easy!

Lasted 5 minutes

My golden retriever ripped the fabric off minutes after retrieving it from the pool.

great water fetch while it's lasting

I bought an XL for my swim fanatic 40lb mutt and she loves it! For now this toy is better for us than a chuckit plus floating ball bc it doesn't get caught in the surf and float back in like balls do, and we can have our hands free while strolling the beach. My dog swallows less seawater and she loves whipping it around like a dead octopus lol Like other photos reveal, this toy got holes and tears almost immediately but it's still working for us. It's not pretty and an arm will undoubtedly come off but it has several. I don't imagine there's an affordable more durable quickdry material that floats that's not rubber so I'm not mad at this wetsuit stuff for perforating. Maybe they could add a mesh webbing to reinforce? Squeeker: ours has one unlike other reviews and the Q&A state! It's hard to activate: I can't by squeezing it w my human hands but my heavy chewer can. It weirdly sounds more like a real bird than other toys, she loves it. It takes some finesse and practice to throw far or straight--it often flies wonkily sideways (onomatopoeia of the name Wubba). I wasn't looking for a launcher toy but might try those next.

Drago loves chasing his new water toy

He flew after it the first toss into the dock diving pool.
