what kind of litter does it take

These litter liners do not come with the Litter Robot (sold separately). The Litter-Robot does not require special litter or proprietary consumables like several other self-cleaning litter boxes on the market. In fact, the Litter-Robot works well with almost any clumping or scoopable litter. Litter beads and crystals that are small enough to pass through the screen will also work in the Litter-Robot. Alternative, plant-based litters may also work, but these tend to form looser clumps that can cause condensation in the waste drawer. The Litter-Robot is not compatible with litters that are strictly absorbent, non-clumping, loose-clumping, newspaper-based, or wood-based pellets. We suggest all-natural premium cat litter for Litter-Robot.

Changed lives

Gave the unit to my daughter and son in law. They have 5 cats. They said, within 2 days, that it had changed their lives. Great gift I would say

Litter liners

The bags are long, with one end glued to form a seam. The fit extremely well into the bin with no issues. It may be a bit expensive but it saves having to clean the drawer. All waste falls into the drawer lined with the bag, so you only have to remove the bag, tie it shut, and toss it in garbage. Then replace bag again. Repeat the cycle each time you need to enjoy the bin. So easy, a trained monkey could do it. Meow.

Bunched up design

The design of the bags has a large opening that tapers to a puckered glued seamed end. It is designed to be used in a funnel shape instead of the robot litter receptacle which is a rectangle. So the bag bunches up before it should and there is a lot of waste in the rolled up plastic. Design defect indeed.

They work great!

So far they are working fine! Just still in the trial stage of the whisker litter 4. One cat will use it the other refuses! I hope both will use it soon.

Happy with the fit!

Did I want to spend $35 on plastic bags? Absolutely not. However, these bags work super well with my litter robot and I'm glad I got them! I tried using normal trash bags and those worked.... fine. But they were kind of annoying to fit in the bin and ultimately, I got this litter box for convenience so I'm willing to spend a big more to get a bag that is designed to fit into the drawer perfectly. And I only have to change this out about once a week so I probably won't have to order more for another year so I'll be buying these again when I run out

They are waste liners. They line the waste drawer. What am I to add to that? LoL. 5 stars for doing their job ;-)

Not worth the money

The shape is odd and hard to spread out in the waste bin. I would rather have a tie string at the top.
