This product worked well the first few times. Cleans the tank beautifully and easily. But even though I carefully followed the instructions (wipe down the outside of the tank, avoid picking up sand or gravel inside the tank) I still somehow picked up a bit of grit that has left permanent scratches on the outside surface of our beautiful new 125 gallon tank. Please please do not use this product on acrylic. It’s only safe until it’s not.

I got this for my 30 gallon planted acrylic hex tank. It's a bit of a pain to get a wand into, especially now that the dwarf water lettuce has covered the surface
I got this for my 30 gallon planted acrylic hex tank. It's a bit of a pain to get a wand into, especially now that the dwarf water lettuce has covered the surface. Keeping an algae magnet inside lets me keep the viewing faces clean, while not having to deal with maneuvering a wand around water lettuce and a partially non-removable lid. It does not scratch my acrylic either.

Mag-Float Cleaner
I just used the Mag-Float to clean the algae in a 60 gallon aquarium. It worked like a charm. I would highly recommend this product to clean your aquarium glass

The magnet is very strong so don't get you fingers between the two halves. As the package says clean the outside of your tank and then work on the inside. This

This ia very easy to use and cleans the altar off the glass very well, and fairly easily. If you have buildup you will need to go over it a couple of times but it will clean it off.
Great on acrylic
This works great on my acrylic tank. I have not observed any scratching which was my fear with these types of cleaners. The fact that it floats means never accidently
This works great on my acrylic tank. I have not observed any scratching which was my fear with these types of cleaners. The fact that it floats means never accidently dropping it in the gravel or having to reach your hand in and retrieve it. I highly recommend this product.

Scratches acrylic aquariums
I got this for my acrylic aquarium and it does indeed scratch acrylic but probably would work for glass. Like an idiot I tried it on the front of the tank first
