Not Palatable

This may be a great joint supplement, but it’s not at all palatable. It has a very strong artificial apple smell, almost medicinal. My horse tried it once and has refused to eat it since.

Awesome product

Needed to get my geldings on a joint support and my vet recommended Cosequin. I elected to get the ASU, and both my 15 & 17 year old boys are moving better than ever!

Cosequin

I started my 20+ yr old horse on this after noticing his get-up-and-go was not what it had been. It took a little while & double load first couple of weeks, then one scoop daily; now he seems to be peppy again. Chewy delivered quickly and the price is good.

Cosequin ASU

Research on this product shows it works. My picky mare eats it, no problem.

Results are insane!

The formulation is amazing! The amount of each ingredient in this product is provided in sufficient amounts for ANY horse as long as supplemented according to weight. I appreciate Chewy offering their product for sale at the lowest price you can find. Deserves beyond a five star review!

Works wonders for my mare.

I have a 25 year old QH mare who has been on this on and off for the last 6 years or so for mild arthritis. I took her off of it for 2 years for financial reasons and she earned the nickname "rice krispies" because her joints were always snap, crackle, popping whenever it got cold. I can see a huge difference in her demeanor and movement when she's on it, so it's worth the cost. I have tried the basic cosequin for her (because it's cheaper than this one) and it just didn't work as well. But this version with the ASU is incredible - I have always been so impressed with how well it works that I ended up getting the canine version for my older dog (and had great results there too)

Returning to pellets

Horse would not eat his food with this powder on it unfortunately. Going back to the pellets.

This stuff works

Older draft cross with some arthritis in his shoulder is back to hustling for his dinner and staying sound when ridden.

Noticeable Improvement

I have two horses, a boy and a girl. The girl has navicular and was having chronic lameness issues at around 13 years old. I put her on this, and wow did it make a difference in her! All the soundness/stiffness issues went away (it wasn't just my imagination, the trainer noticed it as well without prompting). At around 15 years old, the girl had what turned out to be a hormonal meltdown, but as part of trying to figure out what was going on with her, I pulled her off it. Wow, did I notice a difference in her soundness and stiffness when she wasn't on it (not in a good way). She's back on it (along with Regumate to deal with the hormones lol). The boy horse (technically a large pony, but he has 'horse' status for his efforts) is 23-ish and he went on it about a year ago. I didn't/don't notice the difference with him like I did with the girl, but I keep him on it. I suspect if I took him off it, Then I would notice the difference. They both eat it, including the picky eater girl. Another trainer from the first one (who noticed the difference unprompted) recommended the product, and when I asked the vet about it, she recommended it as well. My dog is on a dog version of it as well now.

Recommended by osteopath and vet

While my gelding is showing no signs of age, he is 15. My osteopath said the only supplement he needed was Cosequin ASU. Anything else would probably be a waste of money. I know the vet supports it's use, too. He does eat it just fine.
