  • You can build a local network of family members, neighbors, caretakers, and friends to ensure your pet stays safe. You can also share photos, arrange walks and playdates and notify neighbors about pet hazards or pet-friendly places, all without having to pay monthly fees or an activation fee!
  • You can create a digital profile for your buddy and include photos, contact info and her medical information.
  • Since most pets don’t go far, the Pawscout app makes it easy to rally your community to help you when you find a pet or lose a pet. Once you mark your pet lost in the app, the tag will send alerts to all nearby Pawscout users within 5 miles.
  • Pawscout does not provide the exact location of your pet, but it does have a Bluetooth range of 300 feet in all directions to let you know when your pet is outside the “cone of safety”. You can receive alerts if a pet moves into range or out of range. Location services and Bluetooth must be enabled on your smartphone for Pawscout to work.

Do I have to buy into a monthly subscription to track my cat

There are no monthly fees to use the Pawscout Tag.

When your pet goes in/out of range does your phone make any kind of sound or notification?

Pawscout does have a feature for when your pet comes into and out of your Bluetooth range. Additionally, you can use Pawscout's tracking to create a "digital leash" for your pet. This leash notifies you when your pet has strayed past a certain distance. You must be within 300 feet of your pet to enable this feature. On the My Pets screen of the Pawscout App, select Enable Leash for your pet. When your pet travels more than 300 feet away from you, you will be alerted.

Does this show your pet’s real time location on a map?

The Pawscout Tag itself does not include GPS capabilities. Rather, the Pawscout Tag connects to your phone via Bluetooth and leverages the GPS capabilities of your phone to determine the location of your pet. This range is approximately 300 feet outdoors.

Extremely Disappointed in Chewy

I have used these for years. I ordered 3 of these to replace some of my older ones. 2 of them did not work, batteries supplied were dead upon arrival. I purchased

I have used these for years. I ordered 3 of these to replace some of my older ones. 2 of them did not work, batteries supplied were dead upon arrival. I purchased new high quality batteries and they still did not work. I contacted chewy and they offered me a refund and said they processed the refund then they sent me 2 different emails with 2 different shipping labels which makes it look like I have 4 tags to return when it’s only 2? So they couldn’t seem to tell me if they processed the refund so I could order 2 more, replaced them or am waiting on me to return to process before refunding or replacing. I asked repeatedly and was told a refund had been processed but I never received it to purchase 2 more while sending these other 2 back so they gave me a refund for 2 but are still charging me for 2 to replace the 2 defective ones with new ones after they received the defective ones back. These tags are to find my pets if they were to get out and get lost. I don’t want my girls to be unprotected in that manner for weeks while chewy receives back the defective ones and refunds/has supposedly already refunded me but I have to send 4 of these back when I only needed 2 replaced. I don’t know all I can say is whatever and what a waste of my time in this short life we live.

It got lost on the very first use

I was able to track it to under a porch around the corner, but there was no way to retrieve it. While I love the idea, I won't buy another tracking tag for my furry son because they're too expensive to lose so quickly.

Poor quality battery

I could not get this to Bluetooth to any of the devices I tried. I've gone through two batteries nothing is pairing. The app is confusing because it's not available

Apparently there's a different app for Bluetooth trackers versus the GPS tracker. Don't waste your money! Very disappointed

We bought 3 of these collar tags for our cats and dog. Within 3 days, all three of the plastic cases that attach to their collars were broken and dangling from their necks. We tried all 3 of the different styles of cases that came with the order and each of them broke in no time. Extremely flimsy and practically useless. The batteries in 2 of the 3 collars were dead when we unpackaged them. The app is virtually useless and completely unhelpful. We’re going to order the Tractive collars for our pets and know they will do much more and be more Hardy. Do not buy these for pets that go outside or play. They will break. Very disappointed.

Don’t waste your time

This tag is for people who want a social network. My cat's tag kept "getting out of range," even though we never separated more than 60 feet. Also, I was worthless

This tag is for people who want a social network. My cat's tag kept "getting out of range," even though we never separated more than 60 feet. Also, I was worthless at finding my cat in the office, which is what I bought it for. I guess you could use it for tracking your lost pet, but I would rather have a GPS-enabled tracker for that. Bluetooth is not the best technology for finding a missing pet.
