Great For on the Go
By Binx on Feb 22, 2021
I got this a couple of years ago when I got my first kitten and for me it's honestly helped a lot. I use it for where ever we go, whether it is for vet visits or car rides she has done really well in it. She's 8lbs now but fits in it just fine and still have some wiggle room to move around as needed. At home I do leave it open for her to go in and out of it as she pleases and I have it lined with a towel, so she has something soft for her to lay on that way she's more comfortable with it. It can be a little uncomfortable when carrying as a backpack, but for me once I adjust it a little it's ok. So glad I did get it though, because we have had to leave home due to a couple of hurricanes, but every I got this a couple of years ago when I got my first kitten and for me it's honestly helped a lot. I love that I can carry her on my back while I have my hands free and grab what ever else is needed while on the run. Glad I got this. … more

Perfect backpack
By Chloesmom on Feb 17, 2021
I have an almost 9lb chihuahua that fits perfectly in here. I was worried about it hurting my back but the trial run throughout the house proved painless. I examined several other styles and Brands and ultimately decided on this one and I'm so glad that I did. Both of my Chihuahuas will randomly crawl in there and nap when I have it out. Be sure to put a blanket in there!

Pet Carrier For Cats
By SJJJ on Dec 7, 2020
Overall nice bag, could use a little improvement. Two main points that I did not like. The straps to use this bag as a backpack type of carrier are thin and a little flimsy. I am using this bag for only one cat who is around 14 lbs, and he felt like he weighed a ton with how unsupportive the straps were and how bad they were digging into the front of my shoulders. I'm not sure if this was also due to the flimsy construction of the straps or an overall design flaw, but when I was going to put the backpack on with my cat in it, the bag tilted forward pretty hard and fast (I'm sure the weight of my cat was a factor) and my cat was smushed against the front of the bag. Even after the bag was fully on my shoulders, it still felt like it was tilted slightly forward. It definitely felt that the weight was uneven and pulling me back; needless to say I could not keep the bag on for more than 2 minutes because it was hurting my shoulders pretty bad and I'm sure the cat was not comfortable as well being on a slight incline. The 2nd point that was not great, was also a slightly thin and flimsy construction to the mesh screen and zipper on the front of the bag where your pets going in. If the pet was an angry or rambunctious dog or insistent cat on trying to get out, I think that there's a chance they could possibly rip the mesh and/or zipper. So unfortunately, I will not be using this travel bag as a backpack, which was the main reason I got it, it will only serve its purpose as a rolling bag. … more

Painful as a backpack
By Jaya on Oct 26, 2020
For walking/riding public transportation in NYC, I dread having to wear this thing. It starts off too heavy to begin with. The bottom frame is hard plastic which rests right on my lower back. (I'm 5'2"). I always end up bruised afterwards. The roller sounds good in theory but not for bumpy/broken city sidewalks/stairs etc. There's no structure to the bag except for that bottom frame so the weight of your pet pulls it down and squishes them. It's also not washable because of all the hardware. It's just not practical for my personal situation.

Pet Traveler
By PetGearTraveler on Nov 24, 2020
This is exactly what I needed and even better than pictured. The quality of the canvas is excellent, the wheels are very sturdy and the telescope handle glides smoothly into place. Even my kitty liked it, he crawled into it as soon as it was set up.

OK as a carseat but not a good rolling carrrier/backpack
By chewycustomer on Aug 30, 2020
I didn't buy this for car travel, so it was useless to me as it is poorly designed for anything except perhaps securing the pet into a seatbelt. The instructions about how to insert the platform that, I suppose, the pet in the picture is seated on, are dazed and confused. The carrier is quite heavy, although to be fair the weight is mentioned in the ad. It's painful to try to use this carrier as a backpack because the suitcase-style handle built in to its back dug into mine, and because there is a nub at the base that hit my coccyx. Your pet is rolled at an angle, which can't be much fun although the picture in the ad makes it look like you can keep the door open, which isn't really advised I didn't buy this for car travel, so it was useless to me as it is poorly designed for anything except perhaps securing the pet into a seatbelt. Then, when you finally sit the carrier upright, the pet will still not be parallel to the floor because the wheels are larger than the stabilizers at the opposite corners of the platform (the one Pet Gear provided those aforementioned useless instructions for how to insert). Whoever dreamed this thing up was definitely trying to design an all-purpose carrier that would please everybody. But they've met their match in Chewy, who really do make sure to please everybody and who did in fact kindly offer to credit me for this unwise purchase. … more

Haven't used every feature yet

Glad to finally find a multi use carrier for my pup. Going to have to use some padding however on my lower back because of the hard plastic

This is so nice
By cuteness on Jul 23, 2020
My cat absolutely loves this. She is an indoor car, but was found as a stray, so I think her heart longs to be outside. She will just lay in this bag in hopes I go outside and take her. Hopefully this comes back in stock because its great.

My Transport

This is our second small dog and our second carrier. We use it for everyday travel and long distance. It works beautifully and the dog loves it too!
