Five stars! I was originally worried about trying Real Mesa as my pooch can be a finicky eater at times. But my worries were unfounded. My dog loved this food! In fact, she gobbled it down like it was a gourmet meal. Not only did she love the flavor, but she tolerated the food well without any of the stomach upset that can occur with dietary changes. I'm sure she would give it 2 thumbs up if she could.

I received a ~5lb bag of this food to try with my 8 year Pit and 14 year Shepherd mix. Despite the kibble size being adequate for both breeds and age, they did not seem to care for this food. The ingredients seem sufficient, and I did like that the kibble seemed small enough for my older dog to chew with ease. However, neither breed seemed to care for the food much, and it was picked through as I had mixed it with their regular food to avoid any possibility of digestion issues. Perhaps if I had a larger volume to continually introduce with the dogs normal food, things would have turned around.

A great food option! I easily transitioned my terrier to this chicken based food. I love the ingredients, the inclusion of healthy fiber, and that the food is made in the USA. My dog loves it, and has had no GI upset or change in stool. Would definitely recommend this food and I love that it has ties to Chef Jose Andres and his World Central Kitchen. A portion of proceeds from the sale of this food will help his organization. Win win!

My pup really enjoyed this food! He seemed to like it better than the last dry food we tried for him, and we thought he liked that one! Our dog normally is on a raw diet, so I’m happy he even ate the dry food! I would definitely recommend this if you’re someone who normally does a raw diet, but needs some regular food on hand too. The food hasn’t seemed to both his stomach, like a lot of regular dog foods do.

I understand that this is a Chef created pet food, and I am happy with the ingredients with the exception of the chickpeas. I know that there have been some recent studies that legumes are possibly linked to health problems in some dogs. I feel better avoiding this in my dog's food while further studies are completed. We fed this to our 10 year old Chihuahua mix. She really enjoyed the flavor and found it really palatable. Also, I want to note, when transitioning her from her previous food, this did not cause any tummy issues. I think my dog liked the added herbs and veggies, although I never would have guessed. When checking the website, it would have been nice to have accessible information about guaranteed minimums on the macronutrients, and perhaps some backing by veterinary professionals. I'd like to see the science that supports this diet for my pup.
