Bickmore

The Bickmore Company was born in 1882 when Mr. Abiel Parker Bickmore noticed that the Maine logging industry was losing valuable production time while their draft horses were rendered temporarily unworkable because of the sores, or galls, caused by irritation from their harnesses. Abiel and his wife formulated an ointment in a two-quart dish on their kitchen stove in Old Town, Maine, that would later become known as Bickmore’s Gall Cure. The ointment proved effective in quickly healing any wounds, cuts or sores on horses, and was very well received within the logging community. The Bickmore brand has gone on to become one of the most respected names in the industry. Now based in Whitmore Lake, Michigan, they remain dedicated to creating the best equine and leather care goods available. Their products are still formulated mostly by hand in the USA, and in small batches, just like Abiel and his wife used to make them. Their devotion to creativity, hard work, strength and uncompromising integrity is shown in every product they manufacture.
